  Yes. I called. They asked a bunch of questions and then gave me two therapists to choose from. They conference-called her office with me to set up the first appointment.

  Would it be better to call during the week then?  I was planning on calling Saturday so H can watch the baby

  I called to set up counseling but if you have any previous issues (I have anxiety disorder) they will just refer you out to a counselor in town.  I think their counselors only handle issues like we did at the CC (short term, non professionals).

  You may get more luck just getting on Tricare and finding a counselor yourself. At least that was my experience.

  I'm not sure it matters. You can call and make the appointment yourself too, but I knew I wouldn't do it on my own. Would have made an excuse and put it off until I forgot about it, so I had them call for me. I think i called during a nap.

  If they have a mental health group on your base, they usually have a family advocacy program. It's a non-reporting therapy sessions. No limitations. I went every week for months.

  And I went once b/c I didn't like the counselor at all.  It wasn't worth my time, but then I had to produce a record of my visit for my erd.  That sucked.
