Bahamas Out Islands (specifically Cat) anyone?
DH and I are staying at Fernandez Bay on Cat Island in April - any recommendations or tips? We will probably rent a car for a day or two, and the resort also has small boats to rent. We'll go to the Hermitage, snorkel, etc... anything else specific? besides relaxing 
I haven't been able to find a whole lot of info about the island.
I also heard to bring cash since no banks/ATMs on the island - how much for a week? We'll probably eat at the resort most days but might want to sample some other places around the island.
Any other advice? Just want to be prepared since there are not a lot of resources on the island. Thanks!

I haven't been to that area in decades, so I'm probably no help. It's been way built up since then.
If you're staying at a resort, though, I would imagine they have an atm somewhere. Why don't you email them and ask? Even the podunk island where my family lives, which has about 200 people, has an atm now. It used to be that the bank was only open 1 day a week (that part may be true still), but atms are 24 hours.
Are you aware that USD is also acceptable?
Yes I am aware they take USD. Regarding the no ATM thing, I was going off of info from other boards from people who have been there recently. True, I can ask the resort if they have an ATM; but my question here was simply how much cash to bring.
Cat Island has a few small/boutique resorts and that's it, so it hasn't been built up. It is quite remote.

Sorry, my brain fart was confusing Cat with Exuma which now has high end resorts.
According to a recent tripadvisor thread, there's now an atm on the island.

IME with the Abacos, there's not much to purchase that you need to worry about. The island where my family lives doesn't even have a restaurant. So, you need grocery money (which isn't cheap) and maybe a little souvenir money, but that's about it you're going to eat at the resort.
Will you be going on any trips like fishing or diving? You'd need money for that.
