OK I am addicted to pinterest....
I keep seeing cards that I like that are embossed (dry) and I really want to get a machine ... I have a cricut expression (which I have a love hate relationship with.... wish Id got the software before it became unavailable...).... but that doesn't emboss as far as I know....
So which machines emboss? Ive found the cuttlebug and sizzix. Are there any others? Which do you recommend? Is there are machine that does cutting and embossing and you can design your own things?
I had a quick look at the FAQ but I don't think there is anything on embossing, just cutting. If there is something though please tell my mommy brain where it is!!
Next step of course is to convince DH I really need another machine ![]()
TIA for any info!!
Re: Embossing machines?
I only know of Cuttlebug Sizzix and Spellbinders. Sizzix has a few different models though.
I have a Cuttlebug. I like it, it also works as a die cutter (so do mostSizzix machines). You have to have the premade dies to cut though (check out Spellbinders, they'll work in all machines), so you can't customize them like you can with the Cricut. The Cuttlebug has a smaller footprint than the large Sizzix/Spellbinder machines which makes storing it so much easier.
Keep a look out for sales at JoAnns/Michaels. They go on sale frequently since you can't use a coupon on them.

This is how we do it in my house. I hand-made all of my wedding invitations with a very intricate design this way and nobody knew that we'd made them ourselves until we said something. On a few I did accidentally poke through the paper and have to chunk them, but for the most part it was pretty straight forward.
