What should I try for next?

Last night I ran a mile. I want to increase it. Should I go for a mile and a half. I tried C25k and I am too impatient. Any ideas what I should do?

  • I'd sign up for a 5K and just work my way up to that.

This. Start training for a 5k, maybe instead of the beginners plan, try a more intermediate plan. They tend to be a bit more aggressive when it comes to adding mileage.

    Running buddies are forevah.

    Ditto!

But make sure you don't increase your distance too quickly -- following a plan will help assure you of this. A friend of mine started running recently. She loved it and felt great. She went from 1 mile on two days the first week, to 1.5-2 miles 3 days the second week, and then the third week she ran 2-3 miles on 4 days... and then was sidelined for almost two weeks with knee pain from overuse. Don't do what she did!

    Good luck!
