TGIF!

Happy Friday!

Back at work today.  Yesterday was nice.  After my spa time I ran over to Ikea for lunch and to pick up some curtains and picture frames.  Then it was off to the mall to get moisturizer and mascara from Sephora.

This weekend promises to be very busy.  Derek's heading out early tomorrow to finish up the basement he and Tim were framing last weekend and then he'll be going for a bike ride while I have my shower with his side of the family.  Then we're headed up 2 hours north of the city for a Stag and Doe for our friends that are getting married at the end of May.  Sunday back home to get to work!

What does everyone have on the go this weekend?

Re: TGIF!

  • I picked up some stuff from the Sephora sale yesterday too! I *actually* bought the tangerine lipstick and it looks fantastic when applied lightly!

    Surprisingly flattering.

I got a phone call late last night from my OB's office, though, and now I'm freaked out that I've missed an appointment or something (I misplaced my schedule of appointments through May but I *thought* I only had one this month). They aren't open today, so that adds an extra element of freaking out.

  • I also went to the Sephora sale yesterday (I'm noticing a trend today). I picked up the Urban Decay Naked Palette as a Mother's Day gift for my mom. Early I know, but with a sale, why not?

Last night I was exhausted. I got home from work and Kyle informed me that we're having company tonight. I did a bit of work around the house. Then we ate dinner and I fell asleep on the couch shortly after dinner. Luckily Kyle is only working a half day today so he'll be able to finish up the housework.

Tonight we have a birthday get together for Kyle's best friend (thus the OOT guests). Tomorrow Kyle is heading over to his grandma's for the day and I'm planning on staying behind to get some stuff done around the house. Our lawn needs some serious TLC so I think that's #1 on my list. Have a good weekend ladies!

  • I'm making a sorry attempt at wrapping up loose ends around the office since next week is my last week. I can't wait. This stuff is so annoying sometimes. It's even worse with my boss out as well. Looks like she's at least going to be gone 12 weeks on short term disability and then who knows. She's definitely retiring in January as well. It's about time. That poor woman has put in way too much of her time here already. I'm trying to get people to realize that the little things she used to do won't just magically appear anymore, like flower arrangements and such. That's going to be paid for by people's own budgets for the college, and they're going to need to remember to do it. Phew!

Super excited it's the weekend. My dad is coming on Sunday, and I'm pretty stoked. I'm nervous, though, because Jackson is sick and so is every other kid at daycare. Hopefully my dad doesn't catch in in time to drive home to VA on Monday.

Time to pound some vitamins and watch what I'm eating to hope for no more flu germs in our house. What a way to start a new job if I'm super sick.

  • Good morning! Last night was fun--we met up with a friend at a pizza place and got to catch up for a good while. She's getting married this August and is pretty excited. Takes me back. :)

This weekend should be great! Tomorrow Josh and I are celebrating 10 years together--crazy! We're heading downtown for a nice dinner and staying overnight in the city. We might leave early so we can walk around a while and maybe fight the tourists to see the Titanoboa replica at the Smithsonian--Josh went to grad school with one of the guys who found it.

On Sunday I'm running my third Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run. I'm very excited not only because I love the race, but because I'm looking forward to the brunch I'll be having at Gordon Biersch afterwards. ;) I hope I do as well as last year (when I shaved seven minutes off my finish time), but it's okay if I don't. I'm also looking forward to going to the expo today to pick up my packet--love the big race expos.

Monday is my flex day, so I plan on doing some writing, tidying up the apartment, and getting the laundry done.

    Have a great weekend, all!

  • Good luck on your run Chica.

Kaesha - try not to worry (I know easier said then done), they probably just want to reschedule one of your appts.

Lastnight was ok. It started off with a small argument with DH.  I asked that he had dinner going are done when I got home with the boys, and of course he was still sleeping. I know he was tired (He worked the night before), but dealing with two overtired, hungry toddlers on my own is not fun.  We got over it pretty quickly.  Even more so once the boys had food in their bellies.

Tonight, I think I am going to bring home takeout for dinner, and have the boys eat something small. We have no plans this weekend, so I'm hoping we can just get out and do something together as a family.  It's well over due.

Well back to the grind, it's the last day of the month, and I have a lot of crap on my desk. Have a great day ladies.

  • Chica - good luck.  10 miles is a fun distance

This weekend is going to be pretty busy for us.  Tonight I work until 8pm and then I'm on call (boo).

Tomorrow we have a carsear clinic in the city so we're going to go get the cars checked out.  My nephew's final hockey game/practice (he's 5) is tomorrow and I'm going to go watch that.  It's so freaking cute watching them out there.  Then DH and I plan to go out for dinner before church.  It will be an early night to bed because I work Sunday.

So I work Sunday and then I'm on call again (boo, seriously) and after work DH's grandma is having the family over for dinner.  Sunday FIL is going to come over and help DH hang up some more pictures and ledges and things like that.  We were supposed to have our wedding picture back by now but I haven't hear from them yet, so that is annoying since we want to do everything at once.

I just got back from the gym so I better shower and get ready for work!

  • Good morning.

We have a dog in the office today, which means that very little work is going to get done.  She's a sweetheart, though.

Saturday we are doing the Epilepsy Walk in the morning.  Hopefully, we'll have a good day for it.  We signed up late, so we were not very good fundraisers this year, but we tried.  Then in the evening we get free dinner at Noodles & Co.  They are opening a new store in Springfield and we are part of their pre-opening test run.

Sunday is Palm Sunday, so we'll go to church.  I'm not sure what else is on the agenda other than the normal cleaning and errand running.

  • Good morning!

Yesterday afternoon I met up with my sister and mom to get our hair done. I HATE my hair! I like the color but the cut looks terrible on me, it's way to short. My sister's hair however turned out super cute so I'm insanley jealous. After your hair appointments we went to the Bone Fish Grill for dinner and drinks, I love their bang bang shrimp.

Today will be a busy day, I need to get all the attorneys to review the billing so I can get the clients invoiced. I'm hoping to get out of here by 2:00 but I doubt that will happen.

This weekend we're sleeping in, watching movies, running arrends, and doing some work around the house. Have a great weekend ladies!

  • bailey - I'm sorry you don't like the cut.  I'm sure it looks great and once you get used to it and have a chance to do it yourself, you'll feel better about it.

We will hopefully have a productive weekend, although I have a feeling we might overuse the new couch!  We have a dryer being delivered tomorrow, and I want to get all the pictures hung on the wall so it feels like we're finally moved in.  I really have to make more of an effort on changing my addresses everywhere.  And we should get started on our taxes.  We leave for NYC in a week, and we haven't made any plans yet, so we also need to do that.  And go to the gym, I'm feeling way too inactive.

I just have to input my goals for work for this year (blah, I hate doing that), and then I can go home.  Bring on the weekend!

  • Today is my last night to study for a NCIDQ exam I have tomorrow. I am almost to the point where I just want to take the test to get it over with. I am tired of drafting.

Since it's all hand drafting to answer the questions I've been practicing to get my time down and my hands back in the game. Then I am going to go out to dinner or something fun. With moving the office and studying I feel like I haven't done anything fun.

I'm hoping to get a run in on Sunday. I got a zombie running game on my iphone. It sounds like an entertaining way to exercise.

  • Bailey- I bet your hair is cute and will just take some time to get used to.

This weekend is full but not with anything fun. My little sister and her buddy (7 and 8 years old) are having a sleepover at my house tonight. What was I thinking?! I work tomorrow at 9 so I'll have to put the kabosh on them staying up too late. I've been up since 4:30 this morning so I'm sure I'll be ready to crash out super early.

Tomorrow I work all day. I'm going to try and finish my online class since I'll be sitting in front of a computer with nothing better to do (I'm covering for the receptionist so I can't work on my stuff). Of course Saturday is supposed to be gorgeous weather too, bummer deal. I'm sure that tomorrow night will be laid back.

Sunday is just the usual, cleaning, laundry, etc. Just stuff to get ready for next week. It's supposed to snow (what? why?) so I don't have high hopes for anything exciting. Hope you ladies have a wonderful weekend!
