Any recs for a moderate $, family, AI?
Anywhere? LOL (not that I am desperate or anything
)
I am looking for a nice hotel, doesn't have to be ultra fnacy, that is AI and good for small kids too. Dominican? Jamaica? Mexico?
There is just so many to choose from....
Re: Any recs for a moderate $, family, AI?
Under $3500/wk (including airfare from FL)
Summer - July/August (I know it is hurricane season, but I live in FL so I assume the risk)
Pretty much jsut beach. Maybe a glass bottom boat ride/snorkel tour, but really jsut lookign for some down time
Bonus for a family room/suite so DH and I can stay up after 8!
My friends with kids seem to like the Dreams resorts. They are supposedly very kid friendly and usually offer good deals.
I'm going to assume this is total, not per person? Because just about any AI is less than $3500 pp for a week, especially that time of the year.
I would recommend checking out the Grand Palladium Kantenah in the Mayan Riviera, or Riu Santa Fe in Los Cabos, Mexico. Both have decent kids clubs according to friends with kids, but lots to do for adults as well.
You may also consider a cruise, since it sounds like there are tons of discounts for FL residents and you don't have the cost of a flight. Plus they often have fantastic kids programs, including babysitting at night so you can have adult time.
I second the cruise. If you go on one of the new Disney boats or the new Royal Carribean boats it would probably be slightly more then $3500 for the week but you could go on the newer Carnival Ship (Dream out of Port Canaveral) for well under that price - well once you paid for some excurisions, gratuities, and alcohol its probably closer to $3500).
I have priced out AI's for our family out of Orlando (2 adults and a younger child) and with the prices of airfare lately, cruises have been a better deal.
We are looking at the same type of trip, but in Nov. The Reserve Paradisus Palma Real or Melia Caribe Tropical have seperate living areas (in punta cana) or the divi dutch village in Aruba...
