Learn something new every day - Bagged Milk

I had no idea it came in bags like this.

A big old middle finger to you, stupid Nest.

  • When I first saw this in Canada, I thought it was bizarre.  But I grew to really like it, and I think it makes way more sense than cartons.  It was much easier to deal with, and there's less waste.

  • I just read an article that a lot of products will be packed that way soon- ketchup, etc.  Cheaper to transport and apparently has a longer shelf life.

  • That's how we get our milk.  It's from a small dairy farm 10 minutes away.

  • I hope people are at least recycling these bags for my sake.

  • When I was in elementary school we moved and one of the schools I attended had those at lunch. I thought that it was so cool.

I don't buy mine like this now. We get glass bottles. This is dumb but how do you keep it from spilling out? I've only ever used the one use kind.

Plop the bag into a pitcher, cut one tiny corner off, and pour!  Our pitcher even has a little slot in the front where I twist up the open corner and pinch it in.
