When did your LOs crawl/walk?
Not to take away from AE fun - DS just started rolling all over the place, but not crawling. He has tried to pull-up on me a few times, but not on furntiure or anything like that. I talked to my pedi and she said he's just taking his time - he isn't delayed in any other area so she's not concerned at this point - but I can't help but worry when I get the "wait - he's not crawling - how old is he? 10 + months. Oh. DS/DD was crawling by 7 months, etc." I had a neighbor tell me that he should be crawling and we should have early intervention.
If you had a late crawler/walker - did you find anything helpful to help them along in this area?

LO army crawled for a really long time. She didn't crawl like a regular baby until late 10 months or so. She didn't walk until she was 13/14 months.
I don't think we did anything to help her. I figured she was get it eventually. And I am a lazy mom.
I'm so advanced, I skipped crawling and went straight for walking around 13 months.

My kid learned to pull up onto furiture and crusing around 10 months, she didn't crawl until she was almost 12 months. We're almost at 20 months now and she still doesn't walk on her own.
We got her a push toy to encourage her to walk. She pushes it and makes car noises and then crashes it into the wall and laughs. It's entertaining for us, but I don't really think it's doing what we intended. If your pedi isn't worried, I wouldn't worry. Though I know that's easier said than done.
She crawled at five months and walked at nine and a half months. However, that's not really normal, and I would never wish that upon anyone.
I took care of a little girl who didn't crawl ever. She scooted backward on her tum and her bottom. She walked at thirteen months. I take care of a ten month old currently who only scoots on her belly but refuses to get into the crawling position.
Sam effectively did not crawl. He maybe crawled, for real, for like a day or two. His preferred mode of transit was cruising, and he started that pretty early (8, 9 months or so). Went more or less straight to walking around 11.5 months. Now, that said, his little daycare buddy, Tori, did not crawl or pull up, but instead sort of scooched around on her rear. But she didn't even do that all that much. So it wasn't until she was probably close to say 14 months or older that she started walking. And she went from pulling up to walking literally in the span of like a week or two. Her deal was she was, and is, a talker. She started talking really early - and it made me conclude that kids get what they need in different ways. Sam wasn't a talker - he'd just cruise to physically get what he wanted, whereas Tori could actually SAY what she wanted and get it that way. They both talk and run and climb and stuff now - but they each got there via different routes.
I'd try not to worry about it. I'm sure he's going to be moving around in no time!
I am a runner, knitter, scientist, DE-IVF veteran, and stage III colon cancer survivor.
DD didn't crawl until 11.5 months and didn't walk until 17.5 months. Nothing wrong, no therapy done.
For crawling, what helped was to put her on our (made) bed a lot and she was able to get up on all fours easier that way. Once they are on all fours, they naturally go through the motions (over a long time) to get ready to crawl. They just have to get into that position often enough to figure it out. I eventually would put out cheerios just out of reach for her to get.
I think for her it was a combo of being a cautious person, her legs are too darn long, a lazy sitter/mover, small feet and hard wood floors (not comfy on the head or knees).
ETA: yes, DD rolled ALL over before getting into crawling. It was my motivation to figure out crawling because she was going into the kitchen and down the hall by rolling she was so good at it, so I knew she had the will/strength.
DS hands-and-knees crawled at 10 months. He was cruising at 12 months. He officially walked at 1 day shy of 15 months.
DD started belly scooting at 6 months, hands-and-knees crawling at 8 months, and walked at 10.5 months.
DD started scooting on belly aprox 6mos, never crawled, walked
at 9 mos.
I lurk here but I just wanted to say that many kids never crawl and it isn't really a developmental milestone that you should give much weight. If everything else looks okay I wouldn't worry at all. This is what I was told from multiple pediatricians.

Rolled everywhere around 5.5 months, army crawled until about 10 and crawled well around 10.5 months. He has been pulling up and cruising since about 8/8.5 months. They all develop at different stages.
My oldest was a late crawler. I think he started at 9 monthsish. But once he started crawling he went straight to standing, cruising, and then walking by 11 months.
I wouldn't worry yet
I know better than anyone that this is easier said than done, but please try not to be worried about it yet. There are huge bell curves with this sort of thing.
My child crawled somewhere around 7 months and walked on his first birthday. It's like every birthday he knows it's time to start something new. His second birthday he threw his first tantrum. His third birthday was the first day I thought I literally wouldn't make it through the who-decides-to-have-more-than-one-child threes.

I never crawled according to my mother and went straight to walking, FWIW.
Crawled at 10 months walked at17 months. She preferred the art of language to physical development , she talked in sentences by 8 months. I am not kidding.

My first crawled by 6 months and was walking at about 10months. She had a jumperoo and we did a lot of tummy time etc, but I almost think its just genetic or something.
My second crawled by 3 and was fully walking by 6 months. I was the same, but I think we both were super motivated by older sibilings. She didnt like being left behind
As long as the ped isn't concerned, try not to stress it. Its easier when they aren't mobile hah.
Ditto others, some babies just skip crawling altogether and I wouldn't worry about it.
DS was army crawling by 6mos and full on crawling by 7. He's been pulling up since 8mos and has been trying to figure out how to stand on his own in the last week. Someone help me since I am so not ready for this kid to be walking yet.
Is your kiddo chatty? Our pedi said some kids prefer to focus on developing one skill at a time (i.e. babbling first before crawling/walking).
My kids were 10 & 11 mo before they crawled and 13 & 14mo when they walked consistently. There's nothing wrong with not crawling at 10mo. I did one of these
at your neighbor's comment. Holy overreaction. Some kids never crawl - they just get up and walk one day.
I don't really think you have anything to worry about at this point but maybe it would help to try to motivate your DS to move by putting toys just out of his reach and helping him move himself to get them. A friend of mine told me a sign her kid was about to crawl was when the kid could go from laying down flat to sitting up on her own. That was true for me too. From there it was going from sitting, to reaching out and putting his hands down on the floor to catch himself, then getting on all 4s. I just tried to get my boys to do those movements and helped moved their limbs til they figured it out on their own. I also put them on their 4s a lot. I don't know if it helped speed anything along or if they just did it when they were ready. It probably didn't matter but my kids are lazy so I figured they needed motivation.
I can't even explain how jealousE I am of this.
DD started to crawl at 6 months. Her pediatrician wasn't at all concerned that she still wasn't walking at her 12 or 15 month appointment (she was cruising and using push toys), but did say if she still wasn't walking at 16 months we would discuss intervention. She started walking the week before she turned 16 months and was running circles around us before we knew it. She progressed very quickly from being a wobbly walker to running.
DS started to crawl at 6 months and walking at 10.5. But, his sister's fine motor and verbal skills were more developed than his are at this point. His pediatrician said he has probably been so focused on walking and climbing that he hasn't bothered to work on other skills and they will fall in place eventually.
