I recently got the zumba fitness game for my Kinect and have been playing it a couple times a week. I can't tell if I'm just uncoordinated, but it seems like I have a hard time matching up with the instructor's moves (though I definitely still get a good work out either way). I wouldn't mind trying out a Zumba class at my rec center, but I'm wondering if I should be concerned that I'm not a very fast learner. I don't want to be "that" person stepping the wrong way or flailing around completely lost. Any tips would be great.
Thanks,
Emily
Re: Zumba?
LOL. Our Zumba instructor changes up her routines often enough that just about everyone is "that" person at some point during the class. Even the regulars who Zumba 2-3x per week and have been doing so for the last several years.
Just go give it a try. Remember to relax, have fun, and don't get caught up in what you look like. The more you get into it, the more fun you'll have and the better workout you'll get. If you screw up, just laugh it off, pause for a second to figure out what's going on, and start over.

Give it a try! The classes are super-fun and you will definitely not be the only person stumbling over your own feet, or even the most ridiculous looking person there. I guarantee. They don't spend a lot of time going over the choreography, so you just have to jump in and keep moving. I've literally seen people just dancing around doing their own thing in the back to the beat of the music, which totally cracks me up.
The instructors usually change it up and most classes I go to have at least 1 new song/week, so even the regulars don't know it all. I do about 2 classes/week. They are both extremely high energy, fun, and a great work out.
