Has anyone seen "Like Crazy"??

I'm thinking of getting it onDemand tonight. Any reviews!?!? It looks like I will cry.....a lot...but I'm in the mood for a sappy romantic movie.

  • I watched it with H and we were both really frustrated with their relationship. It's not as sappy and romantic as you think it'll be.

This was pretty much our reaction too.  We really didn't like it and regretted renting it since it frustrated us so much.  We liked "One Day" a lot better even though it was kind of sad.  I cried for "One Day" at certain parts, but still liked it for what it was.
  • Yeah, it was kind of depressing. Not what I thought I was going to see based on the previews. There are some nice romantic scenes, but the overall story is frustrating to watch and ends very strangely.

And so weird seeing Jennifer Lawrence as a blond right after watching Hunger Games!

  • I LOVED this. I saw it when it premiered at Sundance in 2011, and it totally deserved all the praise. I really don't think it's quite as sappy as you think it will be. It's far less about perfection, and while it is about exhilaration and obsession of that first love, it's also about love being very fragile. I don't know... I think tears may be shed, but it's not really a typical chick flick, if that makes any sense.
  • Most of the people that I know that have been really touched by it are those that have had long distance relationships. It seems there are many similarities between the couple and their own time doing the long distance thing. They've said it's like they relived it. I enjoyed it, but it didn't touch me on that level since I never really had a long term, long distance relationship.
  • Ditto to the pp...it's not a sappy romantic movie. It's about a realistic complicated relationship and it's pretty depressing. I loved the movie, but it was not at all what I was expecting based on the previews.

Ah it looked nice and depressing in the previews to me. lol  Glad to see that it's accurate. I meant to see it in the theaters, but will definitely catch it later on.
