Where to buy good, quality polo shirts for DH/SO?

DH normally wears his polo shirts from Express, but I've really disappointed with the fading (despite washing in cold water, on delicate cycle, using Woolite Dark, and hang drying).

I don't mind paying more for quality polo shirts that won't fade/shrink, and will ast a long time..

Any suggestions would be great.

(ok. last post of the night!)

  • I've gotten my DH polos at Gap and Eddie Bauer and both have held up well.  Surprisingly, some of his ON ones are still going strong after about 4 years.
  • Try Eddie Bauer, they wash well and haven't faded or shrunk.

  • Wow, 2 votes for Eddie Bauer... Will look into this.

I buy Ralph Lauren for my husband. They really hold up well and do not fade and I don't wash them any particular way. He has a few that are several years old that still look like they are new.

  • We shop the clearance rack at Off Fifth (the Saks outlet) for DH's polos. He can get great brands like Fred Perry and Victorinox for like $20-40 each.

    Ditto this.

  • My DH loves Brooks Brothers for polos because they carry a slim-fit line.
  • Wow, Eddie Bauer, really? Hmm

We go to TJ Maxx (seriously, has great clothes for men and for kids!). They have a ton of Ralph Lauren polos (be careful not to get their stupid knockoff brand "us polo club- UGH) for kids and for adults- way cheaper than any department store!

Also, surprisingly, Old Navy. They had some deal a few years ago, they were like $5. My husband works construction, and these things have really held up- most are still going strong. Nothing from Nordy's or Saks could hold up like this (although most people don't wear the chizz out of clothes like he does!)

  • DH's favs are RL, Brooks Brothers, Hugo Boss and J Crew
  • Ralph Lauren, especially the Custom Fit. They're cut slimmer through the waist, so my DH needs one size bigger. I bought him 3 of them for $30 each at Lord & Taylor over Labor Day weekend last year and that's less than they are normally at Marshall's or TJ Maxx. Also it's important to get the piqu? not the interlock kind. DH has some that are going on 7 years old with about weekly wear in the summer and are still in fantastic shape. One of my friends only buys Lands End polos for her husband but he wears them daily to work (more casual office) so cost is a concern, and he is a more... portly man.
