Update on Freeway house and RealtyTrac
So the house that we were going to look at this morning accepted a cash offer yesterday... Always seem to be a day late and a dollar short...
My next question is has anyone use RealtyTrac? Is it legit/up to date? I am thinking about doing the free 7 day trial, but I wanted to see if anyone has experience with it. Thoughts?
Re: Update on Freeway house and RealtyTrac
Nope. Don't do it. I did not sign up for the free trial because I read negative things abotu them (and there were some good things too). I just didn't like the idea of having to put in my credit card number and possibly having difficulty getting in touch to cancel.
I ended up being contacted by someone from them since I did put in an inquiry about a house. They emailed me once to ask when to call. The time came and went and they did not call me. Two days later I received an email asking if they could call the next day. They never called and I never heard from them again.
That sucks. I hope you are able to find another house soon.
I never signed up with RealtyTrac, but if you're looking for foreclosure listings, try www.freeforeclosuredatabase.com. Also, a lot of foreclosures are listed on the regular MLS. You can also look at the HUD website for HUD-owned homes and I believe there is another website that lists IRS foreclosures.
Thanks. I think we just need to get a bit more agressive in ou search. Problem is we are looking in an area that is about 45 minutes from where we live now, so we've been waiting for the weekend to do walk-thrus. From now on when I see something, I am going to schedule an appointment right away.
The freeforclosuredatabase.com seemed to not have anything on it, and quite hard to find anything without clicking an ad. Is there a specific place to search on there?
I just click on my state where it has the map on the first page. It gives you the addresses from there, not really any information on who to contact regarding the property but I suppose if you gave your agent the address they could take it from there.
Thanks! I guess I just didn't scroll down far enough past the ads. I found one, and sent it to our realtor, so we'll see.
Not going to lie, but I'm still pretty bummed about the house that sold. Deep down, I am hoping it comes back on the market.
