Hi all, I'm a travel board lurker trying to plan a trip for July 2012. Ideally I would like to find a family friendly place with kids' supplies or possIble to acquire nearby (crib, high chair, baby food). Doesn't matter if it's domestic or international, although I'm not crazy about taking our DD (will be 10 mos then) on a super long flight. Would also like some place with condo or villa style accommodations so that we can spend time separate from the kids at night. We're hoping to make it a 10-14 day trip. I thought about cruises, but it seems like DD would be too young for the childcare or babysitting options, and we'd like to go out to dinner a few times without the kids. Price isn't really an issue. The main thing we'd like to do is relax. Any thoughts?

Does it have to be a full service resort? This year we are doing two trips staying in a Residence Inn in order to have a separate kitchen and bedroom. We already took our San Diego trip and the arrangement worked out perfectly. It was our second time out there but first with our son and it really was a great location with a baby. We also are doing Denver in the Fall this way as well.
For our family beach beach trip we've rented a condo in the quieter area of Virginia Beach at the Sanctuary Resort at Sandbridge. The unit we've rented has both a crib and high chair. We've never stayed there before but the reviews are good and it is located right on the beach.
We're also renting a private villa in the Caribbean in the Fall. It is a stand alone property so no resort amenities but the villa agency will take care of crib/high chair rentals, booking babysitters, restaurant reservations, booking activities, etc. We're not sure if were taking our son with us or if we will just take the opportunity to have a trip alone but it is a wonderful setup if he does go. Lots of space, a separate living area and kitchen and a private pool and Jacuzzi. If you decide to go international this is the route I would suggest. We're using St. Barth Properties (we've used them twice before and they are terrific to work with) but for other islands I would suggest Wimco, Luxury Retreats or Catered To on St. John.
