Hair washing and exercising

I'm working with a personal trainer, and his workouts make me REALLY sweat. My entire body just pours with sweat. I usually wash my hair every 2-3 days, but I'm wondering if I need to wash it more often since I'm sweating so much? Or am I good with using dry shampoo in between regular washes? Thanks!

Re: Hair washing and exercising

  • Do you like the results of how your hair looks after using dry shampoo?  If you think your hair looks fine then you are probably fine washing every 2-3 days.  My hair is fine and I keep it pretty short so it's easier for me to just wash and style it every day but when it was longer I was able to go every other day even with exercise.
  • I workout hard every day and am pouring sweat at the end of each session...especially my hair. It's so wet, it looks like I just got out of shower (ugh!). I try to use dry shampoo and wash every other day, but even with dry shampoo, sometimes at the end of th day it looks greasy on top. I hate washing every day b/c I know it's not that great for hair, but sometimes it's a must. Anyhow, I'd just recommend sulfate free shampoos and conditioners if you must wash after every session. Or, stick with the dry shampoo if you can!
  • As long as you like the way it looks, it's fine.

I exercise and sweat and wash my hair 2-3 days. I don't feel I sweat profusely, though. I also have hair on the drier side. Either way, I know when it needs to be washed, ya know?

  • Thanks, everyone! I'll probably stick to washing it every other day so it doesn't get too dried out.
