Reasonably priced serum for breakout prone skin?
I have never had acne but I am often battling a zit or two, even at my advanced age (tiny trombone).
I got a sample of Lancome's Genifique and while I don't know if it helped my skin, it didn't make me break out at all which makes me happy enough. The consistency is so thin and I think that's the key?
Anyway that stuff is so pricey so I bought Olay Regenerist but no go. I tried it, broke out, let my skin clear up and then tried again. I now have a zit on my eyebrow, people!~
Any recs? thank you.

Re: Reasonably priced serum for breakout prone skin?
What are you wanting to accomplish with the serum?
My main skincare goal is anti-aging, and I use an inexpensive serum called Beyond Belief Vitamin C serum during the day. It's from Sally's and is under $10. I also use a few other anti-aging products that aren't in the form of a serum.
I also just ordered Reviva DMAE fluid (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00014FTTM/ref=oh_o00_s00_i02_details) to use during the day on the fine lines under my eyes. I haven't tried it yet.
I don't have acne prone skin, though, so I guess this isn't very helpful. Since your skin may be prone to break outs from products, you probably need to review ingredient lists and find out if each item contains comedogenic ingredients. This may help. http://www.temptalia.com/the-ingredients-guide-comedogenic-irritating-ingredients-to-watch-for
Maybe identify what is in the Olay that may have been irritating and make sure those ingredients aren't in the next product you try.
Thanks Go_Dawgs. Yeah, I can't stop the wrinkles, that ship has sailed. lol I just want to take care of what's left. I use a product with .5% retinol at night but I wanted something for the day. I also need to get my hands on some actual Retin-A.
I will look at that list. Thanks again.
