Boob Job next week- any suggestions/tips/pointers? Please?
Even by PM, I would really appreciate it! I don't know anyone irl that has done this, so I don't have any friends to give me the low down. I'm starting to get really really nervous!
Re: Boob Job next week- any suggestions/tips/pointers? Please?
What kind of procedure are you having? Type of incision, above or under muscle, etc.? I think the level of pain and mobility limitations may vary somewhat based on the kind of procedure you have.
I did above the muscle with under the breast incision about a year ago and thought it was much easier and less painful than expected. Just make sure you have tops to wear to cover your surgical bra for a couple of weeks and expect to not be able to lift your arms much for a few days at least. I was only in bed & on pain meds for a couple of days. I was out running small errands 4 days later and at work 5 days later.
I was very happy with my procedure and don't regret it at all. I wish you the very best with yours, too!
Thanks!
I'm having under the muscle, and the incision is under the breast. I'm also getting a little lipo on my belly.
I'm going to go out this weekend and get a few comfy shirts that button down.
When were you able to see the results? Are they swollen for a long time?
congrats! make sure you somewhere you can sleep laying more upward or have lots of pillows to prop you up, new boobs looks werid and are swollen for a while, you need to massage them and it's going to hurt like a MF'er but it really helps. I was surprised that I sore for like a week. I could still do stuff it was just that annoying pain.
No need to be nervous, you're going to be fine! I also had an under the muscle, under the breast incision 4 years ago. The first couple of days were a little difficult but nothing intolerable. I took the prescribed pain meds for the first four days and then was able to just over the counter stuff after.
Did your doctor tell you to go on a liquid-ish diet a couple of days before? I don't want to be too gross, but the pain meds can constipate you and that's the LAST thing you want when you have that kind of surgery... I stuck to easy things like apple sauce, smoothies, jello, soup, etc. for a couple of days after as well.
Make sure you have zip up or front close sports bras, button downs, etc.
Take it easy. My doctor told me, "That day when you feel 100% better is the day you can hurt yourself the most, so don't do too much too soon."
Weirdly, one thing that made me feel 100times better was getting my hair washed at a salon lol. Since I couldn't lift my arms, I felt like my hair was a hot mess.
It takes a little while for the swelling to go down and for the implants to settle into the right place so don't worry about it. You'll be so excited about them that you probably won't even notice! I went out one night when I was feeling better and now when I look back at pictures, my boobs looked freakish. But I was so happy, I didn't even realize.
This website: Implant Info has great information.
I'm more than happy to give you any more info if you need it
Good luck and keep us posted!!

justbreastimplants.com is also another helpful site. Sleep propped up on pillows and put a pillow behind your knees so you don't slide down. Stay on top of your meds, take them as prescribed, even if you feel good. Do not lift anything heavy for the designated time that they tell you. Do not start exercising before you are cleared. Do not think what you see is your final results. It takes a while for them to settle into place. Don't judge them for a good 6 - 8 months post-op, you will have slight changes up to 1 year post-op. Good luck!!
I second justbreastimplants.com, great website with tons of support and information. Stay on top of your pain meds like others have suggested. Don't be a hero! I was adamant about quitting my pain meds at three days after my surgery and it was too soon, they give them to you for a reason! It took me about six days to feel pretty back to normal and capable. Rest and relax and take it as an opportunity to catch up on your sleep. It takes a couple months for them to drop, they'll feel like they're high up on your chest until then but they'll still look nice and big immediately. Actually they'll be bigger after they finish dropping so don't buy nice bras until your doctor recommends it! Mine said 12 weeks, I reached my regular size at about 10. Good luck though! I had mine done in August and I loooove them
I third justbreastimplants.com. I learned so much there! I had areola incision, under the muscle on a Wednesday and was back to work on Monday and seriously no one even knew (went from an AA to a C).
It was 100% the best thing I've ever done for myself. I just passed the 6 month mark and can't even believe I had me done- they look and feel SO natural. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions, but the ladies on JBI can seriously help you out.
Also, one random thing that worked for me was sleeping with a pillow under my knees. Since I couldn't sleep on my side/stomach this helped make me feel so much more comfortable. Good luck girlie...you'll be fine!!!

I can talk to the lipo part (if you are doing laser assisted)-- I had my abdominal area done last year. I always had a gut, even when underweight and after I lost the baby weight plus 25 pounds, I was over it.
The area will be hard post procedure and you won't be able to bend over. It will bruise for a few days and swell. You will "ooze" from the incisions for the first day (wear back yoga pants to avoid indentures and to avoid stains). Wear your compression garment for the time they recommend and make sure you have shirts loose enough to accommodate the garment. You will have hard and sensitive spots, you will also experience a weird tingly numb sensation( I sometimes still get that 11.5 months later). My incision sites are only noticeable if you are looking for them. One you are allowed to take off the garment, you should wear a Spanx (I recommend the one that covers your stomach and let's you wear your own bra (ESP since you are having BI). You will be sore if you don't wear one and it is hot outside and you swell esp. If you are active outside.
I had it done Monday, worked from home Tuesday, and traveled for work on Wed.
