Re: The Weekend (long) workout post
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Sleeveless jersey, shorts, socks, cycling shoes, helmet, gloves
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "like a lamb" and 5 being "like a lion", how would you rate your workout? Today was a 4. I felt better on the bike than I have since this whole sinus infection thing began. I rocked the ride....
Did you see/do anything interesting? Rode with a couple of junior national cycling champions and a couple of Juniors that competed at last year's World Road Cycling Championships. They are part of one of the best Junior teams in the country. They are heading to Europe to race for several months.
Bonus question: What's the best April Fool's prank you've ever done or witnessed? None, really.

What was your (long) workout?
11 mile run yesterday morning
What was the weather like and what did you wear?
66 degrees and 1000% humidity, tank and capris
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "like a lamb" and 5 being "like a lion", how would you rate your workout?
hmm, 3.5? 11 miles is long for me, but my friend and I got caught up chatting and let our middle miles get pretty slow.
Did you see/do anything interesting?
Not really. Though we did discuss the possibility of doing our first marathon together in the late fall. Yikes/Woot!
Bonus question: What's the best April Fool's prank you've ever done or witnessed?
My friend threw me a baby shower on april fool's day once. I was about 36 weeks along at the time. I put a baggie of water in my pants and pretended my water broke in her kitchen. It might sound mean, but she's a big joker, so I felt ok about it.
What was your (long) workout?
I ran 11 miles... 9 with friends and then 2 solo (faster) back to my car.
What was the weather like and what did you wear?
Weather was good, 50ish and overcast with a bit of a breeze. Good running weather. My running buddies like to dress with a theme or at least a common element, and this week it was crazy kneesocks (we have a lot of the cheapie fun ones from Target). I wore this:
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "like a lamb" and 5 being "like a lion", how would you rate your workout?
So wait, does "like a lion" mean that it was brutal and difficult, or that it felt great? Whatever it is, I felt good and strong... much better than the half marathon I raced last week.
Did you see/do anything interesting?
Yesterday afternoon DH and I watched a documentary called "Ride the Divide," about an endurance mountain bike race from Banff, Canada to the US/Mexico border, 2700 miles along the continental divide. I'm not a cyclist, but the movie showcased some of the same physical and mental battles I face as a runner. It was great.

I like the ones that Google does every year -- "new" gmail features and stuff. Those guys are hilarious.

What was your (long) workout? I ran a whoooolllllle fscking mile yesterday, lol.
What was the weather like and what did you wear? It was 70, sunny, slight breeze. I wore what I was wearing out in the garden and put on my running shoes- Asics shorts, brooks tshirt, and Smith sunglasses w/ dark lenses
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "like a lamb" and 5 being "like a lion", how would you rate your workout? 5. I crrrrrushed that mile. Fastest mile I've run in...ever maybe? The only reason I ran yesterday was to bring my monthly mileage to a round 80 miles. I haven't been feeling well the past few days either, and my hangover Saturday morning didn't help.
But I can at least say I got out there and did something!
Did you see/do anything interesting? The 4th year VetMed student triathlete was running the opposite direction around our oval neighborhood. Wearing just shorts. Yum.
Bonus question: What's the best April Fool's prank you've ever done or witnessed? When I was a junior in college, a good friend of mine was gone for the weekend of April Fools for a tournament. A cadre of us COMPLETELY stripped his room of his existence. Like, computer, sheets, clothes from his closet, and his nameplate on his door. His roommate got in on it and when he came back, the roommate completely played dumb and acted like he'd never met the guy before. It was hilarious. The upshot for my friend is that he got to have his room cleaned top to bottom and reorganized by us because he was such a good sport that we put everything back for him. What was your (long) workout? 10 miles today
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Weather was pretty good. 50ish, no real wind, overcast. I wore 3/4 tights, t shirt, hat, and Fuel Belt. I wanted to wear shorts but none of the shorts I own have a place for me to put my phone.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "like a lamb" and 5 being "like a lion", how would you rate your workout? A 3? It was weird. I felt really lightheaded and not so great for the first half.
Did you see/do anything interesting? I ran a new route and loved it. My H dropped me off 10 miles away and I ran home. So much nicer than running in loops around our house!
Bonus question: What's the best April Fool's prank you've ever done or witnessed? I thought the StarCraft prank this year was pretty cute
What was your (long) workout? 10.15 mile run
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Cloudy, about 50, strong headwind which I was not expecting. I wore tights and a wicking long sleeved top
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "like a lamb" and 5 being "like a lion", how would you rate your workout? Meh, 3. I am fighting a head cold and my legs felt heavy. I fueled for the first time and was shocked at the energy burst I got. All in all, it was an "OK" run
Did you see/do anything interesting? Nothing. I got hissed at by a goose.
Bonus question: What's the best April Fool's prank you've ever done or witnessed? Nothing, really. I must know boring people!DD #1 born 9/07 ** DD #2 born 7/11 ** Operation Take Back My Body has begun 10/11

What was the weather like and what did you wear? It was about 45 when I left, 65 when I got back. I wore shorts and a tank top.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "like a lamb" and 5 being "like a lion", how would you rate your workout? 4? I had one crappy mile in there where I thought "I can't do this" but I pushed through and actually finished feeling good.
Did you see/do anything interesting? I ran a new route and passed a yard that had a chicken coop and about 10 huge roosters wandering in the yard. They were cool, and since the guy was outside working I told him so.
Bonus question: What's the best April Fool's prank you've ever done or witnessed? I really can't think of anything.
Yes,I'm smiling...I'm a marathoner!

What was your (long) workout? 6 mile run
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Long Lucy pants and long-sleeved shirt, plus a thermal layer on top. It was mid-high 40's with a strong head wind during the first half of the run.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "like a lamb" and 5 being "like a lion", how would you rate your workout? It was a 3. Started out tough, but had a good finish.
Did you see/do anything interesting? I was running on the trail next to a stream and the wind was blowing so hard that I swear it looked like it was flowing in the opposite direction.
Bonus question: What's the best April Fool's prank you've ever done or witnessed? I don't know if it was on April Fool's, but a college guy friend and I told his little sisters that we got engaged (we were totally platonic, btw). They both cried because they didn't think I would let them be bridesmaids. I felt sort of bad for them.
What was your (long) workout? 18 mile run
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Mist and light rain, around 40 degrees. Wore 2 LS tech shirts, cold weather tights, Bondi Band, and baseball hat. Had to grab gloves after my warmup, but didn't really need them after about 20 minutes.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "like a lamb" and 5 being "like a lion", how would you rate your workout? 5. First, because of the weather. Second, because of my ridiculously fast overall pace. Ran the last 6 miles sub-8 without really trying. Spell it with me B-E-A-S-T. Still got it.
Did you see/do anything interesting? I was in and around a park.
Bonus question: What's the best April Fool's prank you've ever done or witnessed? Eh. Not big on pranks.Running on the Rhode

I didn't do a long workout this weekend. I worked all day yesterday; DH and I did a nice light hike today. Nothing interesting - we were hoping the reservoir would be open for dog swimming, but it's not full enough right now. So the puppy has to wait a couple more weeks to swim. Tomorrow morning is spin at 5:15. I'm also going to start the 100 pushup challenge now.
Here's the thing: it was 84* today. 84!! Beautiful, tank top/shorts weather. Tomorrow and Tuesday? High of 45 both days; low of 30. Snow/rain. At least it will be easier to work late when the weather is crappy and I don't want to do an after-work ride.
April Fool's prank? I used to work with a guy who was a prank magnet. One year someone did up fake paternity lawsuit paperwork and had him served. At work. Another year we did up a fake IRS audit letter, complete with registered mail return receipt. He really fell for that one, and spent the afternoon in his office with the door closed. Poor guy. He also used to fall asleep in meetings with his mouth open and people would put popcorn in his mouth.
What was your (long) workout? 3.5 mile run and 1 mile walk. Again, not long but still getting it done!
What was the weather like and what did you wear? It was cold outside and I'm still rocking the treadmill until after baby.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "like a lamb" and 5 being "like a lion", how would you rate your workout? Probably a 4.
Did you see/do anything interesting? My boring basement. Watch Flip this House
Bonus question: What's the best April Fool's prank you've ever done or witnessed? I'm boring and don't like April Fool's Day.
What was your (long) workout? 11.5 mile run on Saturday
What was the weather like and what did you wear? it was cooler out. wore a s/s compression top, l/s nike 1/4 zip, tights, thin gloves
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "like a lamb" and 5 being "like a lion", how would you rate your workout? 3
Did you see/do anything interesting? n/a

What was your (long) workout? 3.5 mile run
What was the weather like and what did you wear? On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "like a lamb" and 5 being "like a lion", how would you rate your workout? It was in the low 50s, I wore a l/s wicking NB shirt and athleta run about pants (was chilly at first but got a little warm mid run). The first mile was a 1, but I finished strong so I'd give it a 3.5/4.
Did you see/do anything interesting? Yes, actually. Someone had mini dinosaur figurines and a mini king kong figurine in their front yard. In the flower bushes, around the lawn, it looked like jurassic park figurines just took over their front yard (a lot of people were doing yardwork this weekend so maybe they put down grass see or fertilizer and wanted to keep the birds and squirrels away?). Either way, it was pretty funny. I may have to stop and take a picture on my next run.
Bonus question: What's the best April Fool's prank you've ever done or witnessed? Nothing comes to mind.
