Breast implant questions..

Hello ladies,

I'm not a regular on this board, but I thought I'd ask some questions here on F&B..

I'm thinking of having my boobs done after breastfeeding #2 is done.  I BFed DS#1 for a year and my boobs were much smaller and more deflated than before.  I used to be a C, then they went down to a B.  I'm a bit worried about how they will end up after DS#2 is done with them:/  Tube socks, etc..

If you've had an augmentation:

How did you find a good surgeon?  Are plastic & cosmetic surgeons the same thing?  Are there any good sites to check out?

Most importantly, how did you KNOW you wanted the procedure?  What was the deciding factor?

TIA:))

  • Breastimplantsforyou.com I think is the forum I used when I was in the process of my breast implant. Very helpful ladies. I had mine in 2007, silicone implants and it is the best thing I have ever done. I prefer the silicone over the saline implants, the silicones feel sooooo natural, you cant feel the implant like on salines.

I did a long reserach and I was happy I did, you need to be informed. I found a great certified surgeon and I was happy with my decision.

    Good luck!

  • I was in a similar situation although I only have one child, I went from a perky C to a deflated B.  I knew I wanted it done, I talked about it for months but the hardest part is just taking the next step and having a consultation done.

I actually asked my gyn if there was anyone he could recommend.  I did some research on the guy he suggested and I liked what I saw as far as the before and after shots on their website.  I felt comfortable with him during the consultation so I didn't make any other appointments (my intent was to have a couple consults and then decide from there).

Check out www.justbreastimplants.com.  There's so much info on there and it may even help you find a doctor.

  • Ditto www.justbreastimplants.com . It's a great site, you may be able to get some surgeon referrals from ladies on that board.  Also you can get a referral from your ob/gyn.  A plastic surgeon has gone through rigorous testing and training before being licensed.  A cosmetic surgeon, on the otherhand, pretty much anyone with any type of medical degree can claim they are a cosmetic surgeon(even your dentist).   Make sure the surgeon you pick has hospital privileges.   I wanted an augmentation for years but waited until after I was done with having children. It  was the best thing I ever did for myself.   I went on 2 consultations and by the second one I knew which doctor I wanted and felt very comfortable with my choice.  So once you have a couple referrals go on a few consultations.  Hear what they have to say, make sure they have the same vision as you do for what you want your breasts to look like.  Be comfortable with your choice of surgeon.
