Re: Good Morning - Happy Monday

  • Good Monday to all.

I'm looking forward to getting a call for an interview to a job that I applied for.  ::fingers crossed::

Other than that we're off to Fraser Island over the long Easter weekend.  I hope to see a dingo!

  • Morning! DH got back late last night from a 3-day ski trip and I was more than ready for him to get here. I can't even imagine 3 weeks... We have this move hanging over our heads on April 13th, and before then we have to get our suitcases packed for the US (not a big deal) plus all of our personal stuff moved out of the apartment for our subletters. They're subletting with furniture, but we still need to get our files, clothes, non-perishable foods, and other stuff we don't want them to use out and into our cellar.

I ordered plastic storage boxes on amazon that supposedly shipped last Monday, but they still aren't here (shipping within Germany usually only takes 1-2 days), so if they don't get here today, I'm going to complain. I need them desperately to continue packing. So that's what I'm looking forward to this week - my boxes finally getting here!!

Otherwise we have 5 million visits lined up to see people before we leave. I hate this phase. We're not leaving forever, just for 5 months.

  • yes it WAS a long time ! SIL moved in for 2 weeks, it was nice to have someone just to chat to at night and help me with dd for bedtime & weekends, but I wanted a few nights to myself this week before he gets back, so she went home on Sunday. I feel like I haven't seen him in a YEAR though!

we are going to the states in a few months time (just dd and me) for 2 1/2 weeks, just short of 3 weeks by the time we get back, which worries me a bit cause this trip was SO hard without him, and hard on dd as she keeps asking for him (but at least she has no concept of time yet.... she just keeps looking for him every day and asking 'dada?', granted at least in MN I'll have my family 24/7 as support

  • Three weeks - wow! Good that you had your SIL!

I'm looking forward to H's 4 day work week followed by a 1 day work week.

  • I am perplexed that Good Friday is not a holiday in Catholic France. Anyway, I have tons of work and life to-dos on my list this week and I am just trying to plow through them and stay in one piece.

Oh, and I had a date night with DH last night thanks to my best friend who is visiting from the States! All the good restaurants we've wanted to try in Paris are closed on Sundays, but the all-night sushi place wasn't too bad...

  • Good morning!

AmericaninOZ, I cannot imagine having DD alone for 3 weeks....you?re a better woman than I!

The weather is crap, and I think DD and I are coming down with a cold...probably the result of having unseasonably warm weather and then a sudden cold snap. Ughhh. I?m still hoping to beat this thing.

Anna, Good Friday is a holiday here in Germany, so I am equally perplexed that it isn?t in France. How strange.

  • Good morning! It's my birthday on Saturday so I'm looking forward to that :-) DH has Friday/Monday off (I don't) so he's actually going away for the weekend for a camping/whiskey/biking holiday on one of the islands. I have plans with a couple girlfriends and then finishing up packing since we move flats in 8 days.

For absolutely no reason, I'm in a fantastic mood today so I'm just running with that!

  • Good Morning!

Yesterday we booked our anniversary trip so that's going to keep me in a great mood all week!

I don't have much going on other than the usual. MIL is here, she arrived last night and will stay in the city for three days, we'll go out to dinner with her and her friend for sure.

Then, I really should start packing some boxes for our move. Not that I'm looking forward to it... I wish I could magically wake up on the day after the move, it's going to be ugly and exhausting, I'm sure. We've decided to do-it-ourselves and dump all our Ikea furniture. It makes no sense to spend money to move furniture worth less than the move itself. On the bright side, we'll get new NON IKEA furniture, finally!!!
