tell me why I should love pininterest...

I don't get it...maybe I don't know how to properly get started?

Me too.  I don't get it either.

  • I just use it like an online bulletin board, mostly for home decor.  I have some recipes pinned that I want to try but if I try them and they're bad, I delete the pin.

  • I LOVE it. but I didn't get it for months. But I like to tear articles and recipes from my magazines. I use it like that, think about creating folders or  "style files" of things like garden, outfits for an event, or recipes.

  • LOVE it! I can finally have all that I bookmark clearly displayed in pinboards. Before Pinterest I would bookmark websites and ideas but hardly ever went back to look them up. Pinterest lets you pin in the form of images so it's easy to look at all your pins, even old ones you've forgotten about. Besides, it's such a huge resource... I have come across pins for hairstyles that I couldn't manage to do before, it inspired me to learn and I really have learnt many of them! Same for make up, outfits, home decor/styling, craft projects etc. I have done a ton of craft projects for Valentine's, friends' birthdays, holidays etc. all thanks to pins, tutorials and free printables I found on Pinterest.

Add me to the list of "don't get its".

For ten years I have been "pinning" images and articles into my personal computer files, and I thought everyone did it the same as me.

I have a zillion things saved as documents, images, and web pages, all organized into folders, and I can view them as icons, tiles, slideshows....

Pintereset seems so much LESS efficient. I keep wondering what I'm missing.

Unless it's to promote business, I'd rather avoid a public format.

I've never done this. I have a few internet bookmarks that I always forgot about until Pinterest came along.

I guess if you have a system that works already and is more efficient for you, than Pinterest isn't really necessary.

I just used favorites and occassionally saved images online before but I think this is cleaner and prettier and I like that it's more interactive b/c you see your friend's things!
