tracking my food intake has REALLY opened my eyes

I have never had such a big eye opener as I have had these past few days. I started tracking with "my plate" on livestong.com again (it's been over a year!). It was as though I had to see it that way to finally realize that "No Robinsparkles, you can't eat whatever the heck you want!"

I will admit to being slightly horrified with myself, but I will take that and use it to fuel my workout today. I've been reading all of the threads that have had to do with calorie tracking, and finally decided to take the advice that was being given to others. I'm really hoping to see a loss this month now that I have a way to visually keep myself in check : )

Just thought I'd let you ladies know that you help others that are lurking a lot too! Thanks Smile

Re: tracking my food intake has REALLY opened my eyes

  • I agree, when I first started tracking I wal like "whoa".  You really don't think about the little things you eat and portions until you actually track it.  Glad it's helping you!

  • I felt the same way when I first started tracking what I ate. I think I was willfully being naive about the number of calories I was eating. It made a world of difference in my weight loss (and now maintenance).

    That's me!
