Eclaires

How was your appointment?  Are you going to double down and do both procedures or just the one you had planned to do?

Re: Eclaires

  • It went great!  I really liked the doctor and his nurse.  Even though he totally felt me up and she took pictures of my naked top half, lol.  They think my insurance will cover the surgery no problem - it has to be reviewed by a medical review board affiliated w/ the insurance company first, but they seemed to think it would be an easy sell.  I'm tentatively scheduled for 5/17 right now, which is exciting.  :)

I am not getting the TT at the same time, b/c my doctor will not combine a reduction and abdominoplasty.  They both take 4 hours, and he thinks a total of 8 hours is too long.  I think he frequently combines implants/lifts with the TT, but that surgery is not as long or involved as the TT.  However, they did tell me that their reduction patients frequently want to have TTs at their 3m post-op appointments and they work with them on the price since he won't combine the two.  I'll consider it, I think, even though I'm not crazy about two surgeries.  The nurse also told me that frequently with reduction patients they are able to get to a place where they are very happy with their bodies with just exercise b/c they don't have things working against them (like for me - sever back pain).

MH thinks I should just forget about the TT, but I'm thinking of just waiting and seeing.  Post-reduction, I have some personal training sessions to use at my gym, and I'll have a few months to see how things look before I have my follow up with my surgeon.

    Thanks for asking!

  • Very interesting!

I can see how an 8 hour surgery would be risky so it sounds like you have a great doctor.

Good luck with your upcoming surgery and you will have to keep us posted on what you decide about the TT..
