Do you wear your "good" sunglasses to the beach/pool/boating/summer sporting?
Or do you use a "throwaway" pair that you wouldn't mind scratching/destroying/losing?
Please use your own definitions of "good" and "throwaway".

Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
Re: Do you wear your "good" sunglasses to the beach/pool/boating/summer sporting?
My good sunglasses are 3 years old, from Coach on a major sale. I love them so much
My throw away glasses are usually from H & M or Old Navy..$10ish?

My "throwaway" sunglasses used to be "good," but got scratched, bent, or in some other way damaged. I wear the damaged pairs to the beach/pool/lake.
The few pairs of cheapo sunglasses I've bought were not dark enough and I got headaches when I was out in the sun.
My old good sunglasses were Chanel, and I had them for about 5 years and they went everywhere with me. Despite quite a bit of abuse, they never scratched, even when exposed to sand. So yes, I wore them everywhere.
I recently got a pair of Oliver Peoples sunglasses and they scratched essentially because I looked at them the wrong way. So I probably will switch back to my Chanels for the beach and such. For pools and boating though, I can't imagine I'll worry. Sand is the only thing I really worry about.
I have two pairs of good sunglasses: Juicy Couture and Christian DIor. I also have a pair from Target.
I wear the Target ones when I take the kids to the pool or play in the yard with them.
When I go to the pool by myself, on vacation, in the car, running errands, etc. I wear my regular ones.
But I have to say the Target ones are pretty darn nice and have held up better than the Juicy ones!
throwaway b/c i always think they will stay on when i hop in the water and they never do, even w/ my croakies. these are usually target sunglasses.
ray ban aviators are my good ones and they never go on the lake, ever.
eta: sitting by a pool i also use throwaway glasses b/c i will take them off at some point and lose/sit on them.
I take my Chanels everywhere and am utterly anal about putting them in their pouch and into my bag when they are not on my face. I think I'm going onto my third summer with this pair.
I am thinking about a backup pair for more adventurous activities and was curious what others do.
We went on a snorkeling excursion in Aruba and I almost lost my expensive snorkel kit because I forgot I had it on my head when I jumped into the choppy water (like a giant dork). Luckily we had a skilled diver on the boat who was bored enough to go after them for me (we were in 60 feet of water, over a wreck).

I'll wear my expensive glasses to the beach/pool, but never in the water. I've seen so many people loose sunglasses in the ocean. I just leave them at my towel when I go in, but I'm a wave jumper/player. I'd loose them in a second.
Same with boating - I'll wear them, but when I get on the tube and stuff I just leave my glasses on the boat.
I wear my "good" sunglasses to the beach and pool and on the boat but never in the water. They're Banana Republic, which I'd say are somewhere between good and throwaway, so that I'd be upset if I lost or broke them but not have to break the bank to replace them. I am actually really good with sunglasses and could probably splurge on a really nice pair, but with two kids and lots of beach and pool and boat trips, I just wouldn't want to risk it. I don't see the point in buying them if I'd be too afraid to wear them.
My cheapie pair stays in the car in case I forget to grab my good pair from my beach bag, which happens often.
