Another job Q (for me this time)
I have accepted that job, set the pay and the start date, but I still need to get fingerprints back. Also, I don't recall signing a formal contract. I tentatively start in 2 weeks from today (so I can give notice today) but now I'm thinking I have not signed a contract. Should I be giving noticeyet ???

They didn't say. I do know that they won't let me start until the fingerprint results come back. I have signed a paper with the pay rate and I started filling out other paperwork, but not a contract.
I just had this last minute...wait a minute, what if this doesn't actually happen? Not because of fingerprints (I know I"m good there) ...just a last minute worry that I'll get screwed for some reason.

She said they are mailing me an employment agreement. Also, I guess it's a good thing that I still have the email where she offered me my payrate and my subsequent acceptance of it. I feel better about this....I will give notice tomorrow.

The worst part abut all of this is that I had to spend my lunch dealing with this and not reading and posting to what looks like an interesting day on the board. I need to get busy!
I've never signed a contract, and I've never received an offer letter.
Wait, I once received an offer letter. 3 weeks after I was told it would be coming and with information missing. That was one of only 2 jobs I've ever turned down.
