Good morning!
What a weekend. Friday night ended up being very low key. Derek stressed his back out at work and I was just tired and off, so we laid on the couch and watched Bones.
Saturday he was off early to get our countertop fixed and finish up the framing job from the weekend before. Shortly before noon my mom and step-dad picked me up and we drove out to the other side of Toronto for my shower with Derek's family. The shower went really well, it was nice to see everyone, and we got a ton of stuff. After that Derek, my step-mom and I drove up 2 hours north of Toronto. We dropped my step-mom off at my dad's condo and then Derek and I went out to our friend's Stag and Doe.
We had a great time there, except that Derek managed to drop quite the hammer blow on his thumb. He was tied for the lead in a game that tests how few hammer strokes it takes to get a nail into a piece of wood. It was the final face off and he slammed the hammer down on his thumb. He won, but he'll probably lose the nail! It's still seeping grossness.
THEN, when we got home on Sunday there was nearly 2" of water in parts of the basement. We knew our sewer line needed to be cleaned out, but couldn't get it taken care of before we left. Well, apparently it rained. Yuck. So it was either wait a few days to get a plumber in, or rent a rooter and DIY it. You can guess which route we took. I am happy to say that Derek's got a new skill, and we have free flowing drains again!
That's about it. Tonight I'll be working on something around the house, and most certainly going grocery shopping.
How was everyone's weekend?
Re: Happy April!
Raynes I am glad Derek was able to fix it!
This weekend was really busy. Friday night I was working on refinishing a new dresser for my little brother as a birthday present. It is still in progress since I truly believe there is such a thing as carpel tunnel from spray painting too much. After I finished what I could we just hung out on the couch.
Saturday was very busy, we did yard demo all morning and early afternoon. We found out our favorite neighbor behind us had cut a tree down last year before we moved in. Well we found i'st root about 3 inches below our yard and EVERYWHERE! So now our evening are going to be filled with removing it!
Saturday night I had a session for a 50th anniversay party. It went well and was really fun. After we went out for a friends birthday.
Sunday morning was filled with another session then a nap. Finally we went out for brothers birthday last night. Dinner and bowling it was pretty fun I almost beat Nate which would have been a first! Tonight is grocery shopping and then yard work if the weather holds up!
My weekend wasn't too bad.
Friday night I was on call and only got 2 calls but one of those was at 2:30am and I couldn't fall asleep after that. Boo. I need my sleep.
Saturday was a full day! I got a good treadmill run in and then DH and I went to the careseat clinic to get our carseat installations inspected. After that, it was Day of Champions for my nephews hockey team and it was so cute to watch. He's not quite 6 years old. Since we couldn't go out for dinner on Friday, we went out for dinner Saturday before church. Since I had to work Sunday morning, it was off to bed early
Well, I didn't sleep very well again Saturday night.
Yesterday I had to work and it wasn't bad but I was exhausted. I came home from and had a quick nap before going to DH's grandmas for early Easter dinner. I was on call again and ended up with 5 pages I think? All were pretty easy to solve so that wasn't bad. Guess what? I didn't sleep again. I was up from 2am to something like 5:15am restless and just not feeling well. I was having some GI cramps and just feeling poopy. I did sleep after I went back to bed but now I've slept in a bit and woke up with the product of those GI cramps so now I'm going to miss my treadmill run. I'm smart enough not to push it since my tummy is off. BUT! I'm going to try to walk.
Sorry that everything feels so venty this morning. I really just wish I could get a good night's sleep.
Raynes- that sounds like a very busy weekend.
I am back WOO HOO and its a short week at work.
I am thinking later today will be pretty busy once everyone gets here and realizes I am here, but hopefully not to bad. I have to call and Preston a follow up appointment with the new peditrician that we will be seeing.
Tonight will be the normal. I am so exctied to get to cook dinner tonight. I never thought I would say that. I have a load of laundry to do and need to do some dusting. Then it will be an early night I hope. I am still pretty exhausted.
Morning.
My weekend was uneventful. DH and I pretty much stayed in, since the boys were not feeling pretty well. It was kind of chilly so we didn't want to drag them out and about. I was able to get things for their Easter Egg hunt next weekend. We also got an invite to a neighborhood Easter Egg hunt next weekend, so I am hoping that we will be able to make it. Sometimes it is tough for me to bring the boys to events by myself since there is 2 of them, and they often go opposite directions when on the loose. The bonus is that it is across the street from my house so if it gets crazy, I can just bring them home.
Otherwise, tonight is another typical night. Bonus, I have a short week this week, and I can't wait have a long weekend.
How is it April already? I love it!
As some of you saw on FB, we had a great start to the month/week with our NT scan this morning. Everything looks good with the baby and, pending bloodwork results tomorrow, we are excited to go back to NYC this weekend and tell our family and friends about our little pumpkin!
We also had a good weekend otherwise, just being productive. We got most of our pictures hung around the flat yesterday, which makes such a difference in making it feel more like a home. Just a little bit more tidying and putting stuff away and I think we'll finally be settled.
We also got a good jump on our taxes, so hopefully we'll get the info sent off to our advisor today and get those out of the way. At least we automatically get a 2-month extension, so not too much stress, but we'd love to get them done early.

Yay April! Eighteen more days until Cancun!
Weekend was fantastic.Friday we bought Mega Millions tickets (sad to say we weren't the MD people who had a winning ticket), found some summer shandy, and then made bison pasta for dinner. It was a pretty relaxing night.
Josh and I celebrated 10 years together on Saturday--we headed downtown to walk around the Mall and got to see the people gathered there for the Kite Festival. Great day for it, too, it was nice and windy. Some of those kites were impossibly high. We ended up going to our favorite Mexican restaurant (Casa Oaxaca, D.C. ladies) and stayed at a hotel downtown.
Sunday was the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Race--and I managed to shave off another 0:1:16 for a PR! I was so happy and the race is just so, so fun. It's a lottery to get in, so I feel incredibly lucky to have raced it three times already. After I got back to the hotel, we got ready, checked out, and had brunch. French toast never tasted so good. We came home and I conked out from about 3pm until 6pm.
Today I'm home from work, doing a ton of laundry and I need to go grocery shopping. But it was nice to not have to get out of bed for work.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Happy Monday!
I feel so good! Friday I decided to not study anymore. I figured a night to relax and back my supplies would be better than studying. I think it worked a glass of wine and some good company and I felt relaxed for my test on Saturday.
Test day, Saturday was intense. I woke up at 5:30, arrived at my test site at 7:30, set up my area and got ready. Then from 8 to 5:50 with an hour break after 4 hours sat drafted my tail off. Surprisingly a few of the questions deal with the type of design work I do most often. Flushing out a 2 bedroom condo from an empty shell to laying out individual apartments on a whole floor. It was still the most stressful and difficult test I have ever taken. It was hard to create designs so quickly and accurately.
I left the test brain drained and headed home for pizza and beer. I decided the rest of the weekend should be dedicated to relaxing. I watched music videos on youtube and kahn academy.
Now it's monday and back to work. My new office is still littered with things that need homes.
Morning ladies. It's been awhile since I posted in the good morning thread. Things have just been nuts here. This weekend was really busy with a mix of good and bad. The goods were that we went to an international poster fair and dinner with a bunch of friends on Friday, and then met up with other friends for dinner on Saturday. The bad was that we decided to start car shopping on Saturday, and in the process of cleaning out our car so that we could have the dealership give us a trade in estimate, we got a hard plastic water bottle jammed under the passenger seat, and now the seat won't move. B took the car in today to get it fixed, but I'm not looking forward to spending money on a car we are planning to get rid of in the next few weeks.
This week is generally going to be a busy work week so I'm not sure how much I will be around. Hope everyone has a good day.
Raynes, what were some favorite presents?
Beth, hope you get some rest soon.
Eva, congrats on getting through the test! I'm sure you did great.
Chica, great job with the PR!
eeeeeeeeeeva, yay for finishing your test!!
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
We were on the Mall Saturday morning for the Epilepsy Walk, but were gone before the kites started.
The rest of our Saturday was filled with some cleaning, some errands and a totally free date night. We had invites to the soft opening of the new Noodles & Co. restaurant, so we went there for free noodle bowls for dinner. Then we used the gold passes we got from Coke Reward points to see The Hunger Games. There is nothing we love better than a free outing!
Sunday, I went to church and Jim did laundry. Then we took a nap and got groceries. That's about it for us this weekend.

We had a busy weekend. Friday night we went out for Kyle's friend's birthday (which is really this coming Friday). Many of our friends came out and it was a blast. Saturday we hung out with our oot guests who were visiting for the day. After they left I started our laundry and hung out around the house.
Yesterday Kyle went to his aunt's to get our taxes done. They turned out ok. Nothing too shocking so I guess that's good (we knew that we would owe because of his previous job). I stayed behind and worked on our yard. I picked up sticks for several hours. It amazes me just how many sticks we end up with after winter (especially considering that it was a very mild winter this year).
Good morning!
My weekend was pretty good. Friday I worked all day then went home and had a great workout and a quick dinner then just relaxed.
Saturday I went with my MIL to visit her sister who just had her hip replaced. We went grocery shopping for her and brought her several meals that her husband could warm up for her. Saturday night Jason and I ordered pizza and watched the last Harry Potter movie.
Sunday was a busy day. I went grocery shopping, went shopping for Easter stuff for my nephews, cleaned the house, did laundry, measured the back yard for our deck plans, and even had a little time to sit in the sun and read.

Good afternoon! Well, the day is almost over haha.
We had a somewhat busy weekend. Saturday was my choir concert, it went pretty well. We had a reception afterwards, which is always nice, because audience members get a chance to tell us how awesome we were, haha
Sunday, I went to church, and we went shopping for a few things for our trip. Today I also went to pick up some last minute things. We're flying out on Friday. This is the most on-the-ball I've ever been packing for a trip, but I'm really anxious to make sure we have everything Darian needs.

Today was good. The kids had a half day and then we had a meeting, but I still got home early enough to go for a nice walk and now I'm making burgers and skinny taste cheese fries for dinner. Yum!
Chica-yay for the pr!
