My plan for my next race.....

It is a 10 miler.  No doubt I can cover the distance.  Also, this is just a race I've wanted to run so I'm not invested in it so to speak especially since it is local.

After posting about my 11:30 min/mile pace that seems to be stuck I found out yesterday there is a 10:30 pace group.

Soooo, since it doesn't truly matter if I implode at this race I'm going to line up with them and take it mile by mile to challenge myself to stick to them like glue for as many miles as I can stand it.  The goal is to stick through the finish.

Re: My plan for my next race.....

  • How much time do you have left until the race? Can you try running at a 10:30 pace for some of your training runs to see how it feels? Even trying it on a treadmill will give you a feel for the pace. If you can do a few miles without completely dying, go for it.

  • I can do it and have done it but lately I seem to be stuck at 11:30 because I'm not pushing myself.  I'm comfortable.
