I am friends with a good amount of animal rescue people and pages so I regularly see new animals that have been brought into there foster homes or shelters. There was this one rottie who was recently brought in and they had to put him down due to cancer.
The foster posted a pic of his dead body on her wall, right after they euthanized him. He is laying on the counter under a blanket in the vet's office. It looks like he is just laying there just staring at the wall - his body is clean, but still - really?
Re: FB WTF
That would really bother me too.
I have had to block people who randomly post pictures of deer and rabbits they shot or trapped.
And lately I've seen a ton of pictures of sick/starving children showing up in my newsfeed because some friend of mine has "liked" the picture because "the more likes, the more money we will get" or some nonsense.
I'm so sorry to hear about your dog.
OP, that would bother me as well. But given its their dog and they're grieving their loss in their own way, I'd forgive it.
As to the people that post horrible pics of dead or dying pets, I also hate seeing that crap. But since that's part of the point, and given they really mean well, I forgive that as well... Even tho I hate seeing it so much. The method works. At least in that the images stick.
I've been an animal shelter volunteer for over four years, so likely about 75% of my Facebook friends are fellow volunteers and rescue partners.
After my foster dog was euthanized, I had to hide so many of them - posts like that made me burst into tears.
