sandals with unpolished toes?

I took off my polish last night because it was chipping on my big toe and I am wearing sandals today.  I was wondering how many other women do this?  I recently had a pedi so my nails and feet look nice, just my toes are naked.  I hate to polish my own nails too and have like one color I don't even like.  Just curious what others do.

Re: sandals with unpolished toes?

  • I think bare toe nails look fine but I would put a clear coat on at least but that's just me.
  • I always have polish on my toes. I usually get a pedi once a month and will re-paint when the initial one starts to chip, but personally, there's something that makes me cringe when I think of unpolished toes.

  • I think it's fine. I personally hate having my nails painted at a salon and always paint my own nails. If my toe nails didn't have color on them it wouldn't stop me from wearing sandals.

  • They look okay to me, but I've seen so many people on the nest say they are grossed out by "naked" toenails that I feel self conscious now if I don't have polish on.
  • I feel weird with no polish on my toes so I wouldn't do it but I probably wouldn't notice or care about other peoples as long as they still looked nice. I am going to notice nasty feet either way but nice feet with no polish I don't care

  • I very rarely go without polish, but I think as long as your toes/feet look well groomed, it's fine.
  • I think it looks absolutely fine as long as your toenails are trimmed and groomed.

  • last night I used the little nail file and the polisher thing that makes them look shiny but no polish is on them - i can't think what they're called right now i'm exhausted!  so they look nice, just not polished, i wouldn't wear sandals if my feet were fug, even if they were painted!

  • My toes are always polished, regardless of the season, however, I'd rather see someone with bare toes than chipped polish.

  • Toes come polish-free naturally.  It's fine! :)

  • As long as you feet and nails are well groomed, it's fine. I have seen polished toes that look very gross, too.  I think callus and cracked feet is worse than not having polish!
  • I can't remember the last time I didn't have polish on my toes.  Maybe middle school?  I don't think there's anything with unpainted toes as long as they're well kept otherwise.  So no funky runner toe.
  • I think it's totally fine for other people. My friend hardly ever has polish on her toes and she looks just fine.

However, for me personally, I feel like I always have to have them painted. I have ugly long finger toes though. If I hate cute little toes I probably wouldn't care.

This. I think too many people erroneously believe that putting polish on hides all of the other gross parts of their feet.

ditto all of this. i don't really notice if others don't have on polish, but i HATE not having it on.

  • 9 times out of 10 when I wear sandals I don't have polish on. I have never had a pedicure and don't like painting my toenails very much so I normally don't do it. I personally think it looks fine as long as your feet don't look terrible.
