help me pick a shower place

My mom is making me crazy and indecisive about where to have my baby shower at home (that she doesn't even want me to have in the first place...that's a well known fact).  It's down to two places.  I have the menus below.  Which looks better?  It would probably be the last weekend in April.

Place #1

Menu:  salad bar (supposed to be a very good salad bar), one or two soups, hot or cold sandwiches (paninis, croussants, etc.), pasta salad, homemade chips, and drinks........she will give a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a blueberry sauce or some kind of sauce, or a little cheesecake  Cost - About $16 + tax/tip
*Pros - Easier to find, "fancier" (though I'm not sure how much fancier it really is, per se, but it gives off that vibe more.  Negative - Would have to rent linens if you wanted table clothes.  They could have maroon napkins there for free that they use for the regular restaurant or you'd have to rent napkins in the chosen color.   a little further than choice #2. No outdoor option.

Place #2

$10 + tax/tip option                                                                                          Starter - choice of cup of soup or salad
Entree - Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad
Penne ala Vodka
Chicken Francaise with potato & veg
Plus we will put pitchers of iced tea & soda on the tables - this will not
include any alcoholic beverages.

$15 + tax/tip option

Starter: Choice of House salad or Cup of Soup OR Spinach & Artichoke Dip with homemade tortillas for the table

Entr?e: (choice of one) ? everyone can pick their own entree

Grilled Chicken Caesar or Cork Salad

Chicken Francaise or Marsala served with Chef?s Vegetable & Potatoes

Penne Ala Vodka or Marinara

Tequila Lime Tilapia served with Chef?s Vegetable & Potatoes

Eggplant Rollantini with side of Penne Pasta

*Pros - Tableclothes/napkins provided.  Possible outdoor option if it is nice enough. Closer to most people.  Negative - a lot of step to get to inside room for the 3 older people.  Parking can be iffy and it could be trickier to find.

HELP!

Re: help me pick a shower place

  • Based just on the menu/prices, I'd go with place 2. The downside that concerns me the most is the steps for the older people.  I like the outdoor option, and I feel like most people have GPS' now a day, so that shouldn't make it too hard to find. Good luck!

  • I'd go with option #2, also.

  • Hmmm, I like place #2, but if you were to go with the $15 option, it isn't much different than place #1, except for the linens issue. The steps for the older people concern me, but do they have any kind of ramp or elevator for them? Tough choice! I'm still thinking place #2 though, the menu sounds good, and the prices sound reasonable.

  • I'm another vote for #2.  The price is nice, and the food looks good.

  • I'd go with place #2.  Food always seems to be the biggest plus for guests at a shower and the food sounds better there.  Also the fact that the tablecloths and napkins are provided is a biggie.

I feel like my family is crazy.  They put a deposit down at the place already (like two weeks ago) for my shower in August!
