We didn't really do vacations growing up outside of camping. So, I'll say that. It was fun and I miss doing it.

No plans for a trip right now. NYC was expensive, so we'll probably hang around home (or close) at least until fall or so.

  • Best vacation: hmmm, probably our CA trip when I turned 18- we saw family in SoCal, drove up the coast and had a blast and then ended up in SF for a wedding.

Nothing planned right now- I am hoping to reschedule my trip to CA but I don't knwo when that would happen.

  • Growing up we never went too too far. We went to VT to my grandparents' house frequently. We also went to San Diego for my uncle's wedding when I was 10/11 but I don't remember much. I went on a couple band trips (FL and AZ) in HS which were fun.

One of my favorite locations was my trip to Australia in college for a project. I technically didn't go with DH, but he was picked for the same trip and that's how we met. It was such an amazing trip and place. I want to go back badly. I also loved our 2 year anniversary trip to HI. It was a very adventurous vacation and I'd love to go back.

With baby coming we don't have anything planned. One of DH's cousins is getting married in VA next spring. If we have the time off and can swing it we may go, maybe stop in DC or something. Not sure if it would be with or without DD. It would also be awesome to make the next board GTG in CA. But again it depends on the time off and funds (especially if we're going to VA too).

  • I don't have one favorite vacation, but I LOVED the ones where we'd go with my dad's side of the family to Florida, rent a few condos and just spend our days at the beach. So much fun!

I'm really looking forward to our trip to Vegas at the end of May!

  • As a kid I went to NY a lot since my family is/was there but I never considered that vacation.  We stayed with our grandparents and didn't do much.  Once I was old enough and out of the house I started taking trips locally to Vegas or Havasu but never considered those vacations either, just long weekends.

Once I met Andrew we started going on real vacations.  OK, we've only been to Hawaii but hey, that was three times so far and we enjoyed all three.  I would say our second time to Hawaii, in 2009 was my fave.  We did all the touristy stuff the first time (HM) on Oahu and the second time we decided to go back and just relax and hit the North Shore and explore.

With finances in a crunch now and baby coming we have no vacations planned at all. Really, how did we go from being able to afford all these nice vacations to not being able to afford anything?  It really blows.

  • I have to pick one? Loved Hawaii of course. But I also loved our trip to Montana and Yellowstone. And when my sister and i went to italy together. It was her first trip abroad and for some reason it felt so adventurous of us to go..................currently we have tentative plans to go to europe for two weeks in sept. London, Amsterdam and Paris. Brian is trying to convince me to go to Hawaii again though.
  • Our honeymoon in Aruba was by far the best vacation!

Justin and I were talking about a long weekend away sometime in the summer. Before that, I am taking two weeks off to go to California and Chincoteague with Justin and Eli.

  • What was your favorite vacation you've taken with or without your SO?

By far it was my trip to Scotland with my mum when I was 16. We were homesick but the 10 days was fabulous! I want to take Brian there some day.

Do you have a trip planned now that you're looking forward to? Just our annual gold prospecting trip in July. We had planned to go to Vegas last week but had to cancel. May be we will go for our anniversary?

  • I think my favorite vacation was our week in DC when we got engaged.

We don't have anything planned for this year and I'm bumming about it.  Next week Pat has a conference at Foxwoods Tues - Thurs so I'm debating about going with him and then taking Friday off and maybe heading to NYC for the weekend.  That's up in the air though.  Mostly I don't want to miss a week of photography class.

  • I have a tie.  Our honeymoon cruise in the Mediterranean was top knotch, but I also had a blast on my grad school class that I took and got to travel to Bangkok and Singapore.

Nothing planned at the moment.  We'll probably be doing a Quinceanera cruise next year for Alexi's cousin which should be fun, but I'm really looking forward to booking a trip to Disney and taking our kids there for the first time.

  • With my dad in the ag industry he was in, we traveled alot.  Multiple trips to Florida for for a few months at a time, or just to different states for big conferences twice a year.  Even to Canada.

However, my favorite trip was with my church.  A group of youth and adults went to Germany for 3 weeks in 2001.  It was great. I had just turned 21, so I was of legal age in the US, and by the pastor and other adults eyes, to drink.  My parents, an aunt, uncle and cousin, and various other youth and adults had a great time.

One of the German youth's that we met is currently here in the US staying with my cousin for 3 weeks.  This is the second time since 2001 that we've gotten to see each other.

As far as trips planned, my BIL just purchased tickets for us, (DH, me, MIL, BIL, and possibly FIL) to take Levi to the Crayola Factory...and possibly hit Sesame Place since it's relatively close.

  • My favorite trip ever was my trip to Europe when I was 16 with a school group. It was just amazing and I learned so much about myself on that trip. It was a life changing experience for sure. My favorite trip with L was probably our Seattle trip for his 30th last summer, it was just a great trip. We had a great time together and with our travel buddies, L's BFF and his wife. Nothing big planned coming up other than our ling weekend back in Colorado in June. Pretty much that's our last big pre-baby trip since the trip to KS for SIL's wedding isn't really vacay. We also plan on some weekend trips in Cali to Monterey and Santa Barbara this summer.

  • Well, I have traveled a lot on my own and with DH...although I've been to many countries and extravagant vacations, I have to say that our vacation in Northern MI where we conceived H, will forever be my favorite trip! <3

We're actually have a few trips coming up ... back up north in September, Florida next Feb/Mar, and Italy next year in August.

    Vacation
  • I guess my trip to Germany/Austria in college with the choir.  I would say my trip in college to Costa Rica, but that was technically a mini-semester study abroad (about 3 weeks during the winter break) and required a research project, lectures, a research paper, and presentation and was for credit, so I don't know if that counts.

We're going to VA wine country in June for 3 days/nights with some friends from our running club for a half marathon and leaving P with his grandparents.  It is also the last trip before we TTC again, and since it took us almost 3 years to take a trip without P more than just overnight, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I am seriously considering going to Bermuda next month for a couple of days.  My brother is living there for the next 2 months for work.  However, I have to travel for a few days the week before for work, and it isn't fair to keep leaving B home with P by himself!
