Game of Thrones 4/1 - spoilers
So happy it's back!!! I think they did a great job reminding us where everyone is at, and introducing new ones. Although FI, who hasn't read the books, was a little confused about Melisandre's role.
There were a couple of scenes that weren't in the books (or at least not explicitly "on-screen"), and I thought most were good. But the scene in the throne room with Joffrey vs Cersei didn't feel right to me. I don't remember him ever directly defying her (not counting things in public where she just doesn't contradict him), she should still have more control over him.
Can't wait for next week already
Re: Game of Thrones 4/1 - spoilers
I thought it was a great episode. Some parts in the beginning were a little slow. I haven't read the books but I like the all the different storylines. I had trouble last season following all of the characters but I think they did a good job introducing the new characters so far.
How adorable are those baby dragons!?!
I thought it was good, but I kind of wish they had a title page before they switched to each new character (like in the book) so I could remember who everyone is ha ha.
Also, I really could have done without the imagery in the last scene.
It's always a bit slow to pick up on a new season; hell, I had to watch and re-watch the first four or five episodes of last season to begin to understand what was going on. LOL.
And however inaccurate the throne room scene felt, it was SO awesome to see Cersei slap Joffrey. First and only time that I was like "YEAH, CERSEI!!" lol. Ever.
Tyrion is bad. ass. My favorite Lannister, by far.
Also, I don't know if it's better to have read the books before watching the show-- there are some characters that I've been turned off by in the books by their actions, but are still in play in the show. (ie, Ser Dontos, Theon Greyjoy, Jorah Mormont) and others that I've grown slightly more fond of through reading (Jaime Lannister, Ser Gregor Clegane) ::shrugs::
Only 29 more minutes till Season 2 episode 2 starts!! eee!!
