Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Great News re: our appraisal coming in lower/builder!
Not sure if anyone remembers --- last week we found out the house we are building appraised lower than the asking price/mortgage price we locked in.
We didn't know what was going to happen, we met w builder today...who i love
So originally he our house was a certain price but we added a basement so that was $20k more. Welllllll the appraisal came in about 22$k LESS than his asking price bec. there are no brand new home to comp....he said this was a first bec. now there is only a certain percentage that the appraisers can go above the closest last house that sold/newer. Like the next 4 bdrm house he builds will be fine...bec our house is there. Stinks for HIM...not for us 
he asked us to pay the $2k in cash and to take a less expensive garage door (we can upgrade later, which we will) and then HE takes a $20k loss....so basically we got a basement for free!!!
He said there was nothing to really to take out since the house is up and everything is done....he can't return anything lol
I"M SO HAPPY and RELIEVED!! .....i can deal with not as fancy garage door for now and $2k in cash to gain at least a $100 less a month on our mortgage now! and we'll be able to move in about a month
