Smashbox BB cream = bust

I bought the Smashbox BB cream in Fair and Light b/c I wasn't sure which would work with my pale skin with pink undertones. Both arrived from Sephora yesterday so I was excited to try them out this morning.

First, the Fair was very very light, almost white with a hint of pink. I put a tiny bit on and it was like wearing a white mask. I wiped it off and tried the Light shade instead. Well the light was a tad too yellow AND it would not blend at all. I tried a beauty blender dry, a beauty blender damp, a foundation brush and my fingers and it was streaky and splotchy. It was probably best with the dry beauty blender. I got it to a point I could possibly live with the coverage, and put the Tarte Smooth Operator on top to finish. It looked TERRIBLE. I put my regular foundation over top and it looks ok, but not as good as if I hadn't used the BB cream at all - after all the messing around with it trying to make it look right, I didn't have time to wash everything off and start over.

Both tubes are going back to Sephora and I'll probably try the Skin79 or Missha cream instead.

  • I have been using Dior Snow BB Cream for a month now and I am very ahppy with it. It only comes in one shade. You can get a generous size sample from a Dior counter.
