So a few years ago, I had some X-rays done on my hand/wrist because I was having some pain. They didn't see anything on the X-rays, the pain seemed to go away, so I didn't follow up with the other tests.
Fast forward to 2012. The pain is back and seems to be worse. The only doctor I have a real history with is my OB/GYN and feel weird calling her up to tell her "uh, my hand hurts...".
Do I start with her to see if she has a referral or do I suck it up, call and wait to get in with a GP and go from there? I've been dealing with the pain for the past few weeks because this shiit drives me batty and I HATE seeing new doctors.
Re: Dear Dr RE
Is there any history of injury? Do you do lots of computer work? Have you had tendonitis?
My shoulders and elbows were all wonky and I saw a chiropractor (a bone one, not a fix your chi and IBS one) and it's far better.

Not really, but maybe I'm not doing it right? (That's what she said.)
The pain is mainly centered at the base of my thumb and in between my thumb and pointer finger. If you press on that area it hurts like a mofo, but also feels "good" in a weird way, if that makes any sense.
No referrals needed for my insurance. They just did xrays last time. God I hate this stuff.
Sports med or ortho then. Then to therapy!
The OT I saw for my hand had this nifty thing that you stuck your hand in, like a box, and then she turned it on and it rumbled/blew warm sand around your hand.
Me too. That's where you'll ultimately get sent anyways.
