Re: Wednesday Poll

  • We thought we were going to Pat's parent's house, but they emailed this morning and they're not up to it so we'll be going to my Gram's house.

I hope to also see my nephew, Quinn, because I need to take a bunch of portraits for class next week and he'll be an adorable and willing subject!

  • Lazy day at home probably since we don't celebrate easter Smile  but DH's parents are joining us for Passover seder on Saturday night so they may stick around. Who knows. I think I have to plan ahead since I think grocery stores are closed on Sunday, right?
  • Brunch with my parents and dinner with DH's parents. It's going to be a very long day with Hadley, and I'm not looking forward to how much it's going to disrupt her poor schedule!

We don't have any plans right now since we don't really celebrate Easter. Matt will be working on Saturday morning and in the afternoon I'm meeting Paige for a movie and dinner. So, Sunday might be a good stay at home day.

  • We are supposed to drive up to NJ sometime this weekend, but I would really rather just stay home! Justin has plans with friends Friday night, so we may go to that and then drive up afterwards, but we are missing the big Easter egg hunt at church and I really don't want to drive up for a short weekend. I'm just being bah-humbug (or the Easter equivalent) about it though.

Grocery stores aren't closed here. I don't even think they have reduced hours.

What will you make for seder? I celebrated with a friend one year in college and it was fun. I don't remember exactly what she cooked, but it was good.

  • I'm off Friday, so that afternoon I'll be stuffing eggs for the Egg Hunt at the firehouse that evening.

Saturday my dad's side of the family is having their Easter dinner at my aunt's house.

Sunday we will have Easter dinner at DH's granny's house with a little egg hunt for the kids.  I'm tempted to do an egg hunt at our house in the morning for Levi.

  • we have a busy weekend! Ada, Stella and I will be heading to VT for Passover. 1st Seder is at my parents' synagogue (community seder, should be fun). 2nd night my mom is hosting and it's going to be huge. My BFF and her family are coming (she always came to passover when we were growing up, she loves it and wants to expose her kids to the tradition). Plus some of my parents' friends and my aunt and uncle as they are finally back from India and my uncle and dad need to go thru grandpa's will, finances, etc.

Sun morning we head home and then Easter is with Ken's parents at like 3pm.

    So busy busy!

  • My parents are coming over for lunch. we have lunch with them about once a month.

    My mom offered to cook.

I offered to buy takeout Stick out tongue

  • We are going to the in-laws for brunch on Sunday, it will be us, his parents, Mimi and his sister and husband.  We (JT and I) do not celebrate but his parents insist so it's easier to just go along with it.

I feel like they are here... but I always get confused! I have to check. I'm making a cheesecake I think. My mom is making matzo ball soup, salmon and a few other things... I'm not really sure what's on the menu right now.

    Jaime- no worries!

I do remember one of the two in town being closed while I was in college. That was near St. Louis.

  • We are going to the IL's for Easter lunch. My SIL is not coming so no babies. However my dad will be joining us and it will be low key!

Usually we skip Easter with the ILs however we had to compromise as we will not be here for mother's day. Of course Brian will get flamed from his mother b/c of missing it (long story).

I just checked. At least one is open but I think they close early so you definitely have to plan ahead.

  • Although I don't really believe in celebrating easter (or any holiday) as a religious holiday we celebrate it out of tradition because everyone else does and I'd feel bad for Suri not to have that experience, same with Christmas.

We'll be going to my mom's.  She still makes us baskets.  Big Smile

  • We do more on Good Friday than on Easter.  Alexi and I both have the day off and we'll go to Mass in the afternoon and probably to his parents house after for their annual fish dinner.  Saturday we have no big plans during the day, but we'll be going to the Easter Vigil Mass at my friend's church as she'll be doing her 1st Communion (she's getting confirmed next month).  We're attending to support her and b/c her church is close to our house. :)  Since we are going on Saturday (it's a LONG mass) we won't go on Sunday and will sleep in if Miss Mariela cooperates and I'm not sure what we'll do after that.  I don't think we're going to do an egg hunt this year, but I did get an Easter basket for M, so she can open that.
