There's a cute guy on my kickball team who's single. He missed the first few games, so last week was the first time I met him.
Please remember, I haven't been single since I was 16. I'm really not sure what I'm doing, lol.

If he makes a nice play, tell him! "Nice play!" "great kick!" (or whatever you say at a kickball game).
Does the team hang out for drinks afterwards? Chat him up then.
A smile goes a long way - - I truly believe that more important than being a knockout is being approachable.
Other than that, just be friendly like he is a new neighbor - - if this is a company league, ask him what dept he works in, if it is a bar league ask him where he works, etc.
This is me too. I've got absolutely zero game. And the more I crush on a guy, the more shy I become. Alcohol sometimes helps a Iittle.
