Obama wants to implant chips into everyone!
Oh boy...My mom is claiming that Obama wants to get chips implanted in everyone. So I looked it up and I'm finding stuff on sites like this:

and blogs. Of course, it's False according to snopes. I knew my mom watched Fox News, but she's always been a fairly reasonable person. Recently, when she expressed some interest in Santorum, I assumed (and it kind of sounded like) she just didn't know enough about him to know better (which is stupid on my part, given we are from PA). I am so disillusioned now, realizing my own mother wears a tin foil hat. At first I laughed out of utter disbelief, but now I kind of want to cry!

All the "end of the world" conspiracy theories end in everyone getting killed and the remaining getting micro-chipped and then becoming slaves. Some theories include us all being alien slaves, you know, when they come back this December.

I wonder how people like your Mom will look back at this time in 10-15 years. Will they think "Ok, maybe we all overreacted just a BIT" or will they think "Whew, we just BARELY dodged that Obama brain chip in 2012"?
So I emailed my mom the links to snopes and factcheck.org addressing this and here was her response:
What I read was that there will be a chip in the medical i d card. Eventually, possibly on the person. I too googled it. Skeptical, but found it interesting. I don't doubt the possibility of the medical card. As you see there were quotes from the bill to support. Questionable, but reason to think.XO Mom
A chip on a medical ID card is a whole lot different from one in your BRAIN. On the card I can see, it would be like the ones on some credit cards. Gives medical history in case of emergency or whatever, I would actually consider it a fairly good idea. If you're found unconscious somewhere and have one of those on you, it could save your life.
The chip-in-the-brain people are insane though.
