God, I hated that movie the first time around. I think I saw it a year after it came out, so I was 18, and it was just stupid all around.

Confession: I like the movie because of the overall attention to detail on the ship and the passengers....I'm a geek like that. There's a couple of errors, but they got things right like the false smoke stack, the Renault, etc.
The only horrendous error is Margaret Brown as "Molly".

I saw Titanic the first time around in the theater - THREE TIMES.
I'm pretty sure I loved it b/c I also loved Danielle Steel's No Greater Love.
Let's pretend I never said these things.
And that recap is the best thing I've ever read. I'm dying here, and MH is not appreciating me reading it out loud to him b/c he's never seen the movie.
All I had to do was look at the graphic header and I lost it.
OMG.
I was the only one in my group who walked out of the theatre the first time going "That effing sucked. I want my money back." Everyone else thought I'd lost my mind, it was so romantic, blah blah.

You did better than I. I got about half way through the movie and couldn't take it any more. I distinctly recall yelling "Sink already!" at the tv before I turned it off. I'm also pretty sure that movie is the reason I can't watch DiCaprio without making faces.

This, plus I've been obsessed with the Titanic since they found it and pulled it up. I was only four or so but I was riveted.
I couldn't care less about Jack Dawson though. Big whoo. Those little Irish kids in steerage though . . . omg, I so bawled.
