Has anyone ever sold a car to Carmax before?
Thoughts?

Re: Has anyone ever sold a car to Carmax before?
My thoughts: you go through cars faster than I go through bras.
Seriously, I've had all my bras longer than you've had your cars.
Maybe I should go shopping.
LOL. We are looking to SELL the honda and my mom is giving us her car for free. No more car payment!
We recently thought about selling to Carmax. They offer you the wholesale price, which is much less than what a dealer would give you if you were to be trading the car in. The trade-in value is generally a significant amount lower than a private sale value, so selling it to car max, you'd really sell yourself short.
Example: We had a 2004 Tribute. Dealer gave us $3800, private sale would have been around $5000, and carmax offered $2200.
If at all possible, I'd try for a private sale.
It doesn't hurt to shop it around.
Used cars are a commodity right now, especially a nice little fuel efficient Japanese car.
Good point. I might try the place we bought it from since it's a Honda dealership.
I got a quote to sell once. The offer was just under 5k, and they had a car on their lot like mine (yr, make, model) but with no sunroof for 9500.
