I'd like to print a retraction
My most sincere apology for the comments I made regarding clothing for plus sized people. I was wrong and argumentative and very likely hurtful to more people than I realize.
I totally did dig my heels in too. Big character flaw right there.
I've been putting some thought into it over the last two days and I re-read some of the posts, and I really don't even know how I ended up making some of the comments I did! I love a good debate which I how I wound up on this board and I tend to defend to the death sometimes, even though I'm wrong (which I totally was). I'm sure my husband could offer a few choice words about that. Ha!
So there you go PC&E I showed my ass. I know I didn't need to post this, but I really wanted to, especially for those I hurt. At the end of the day I know full well that limited access to nice clothing for larger people is not answer, nor is it a good thing to do. I tend to get up in arms also because I feel very passionately about food in this country and how schitty the whole system is and how badly I'd like to change it. Totally went down the wrong road on Tuesday though.
I'm not taking my ball and going home. I'm staying. And I'm still going to argue plenty.

Re: I'd like to print a retraction
I didn't read the thread, but I'm glad you're sticking around.
We've all probably dug our heels in at some point and realized after the fact what we said was wrong. You're not alone

Welcome to fight club
Yep. This is how I think I ended up at point X when I wanted to be at point B. I reread some that and thought, wait- WTF? That's not what I was trying to say.
Ha! So true.
This is very cool of you to do.
Glad you're sticking around!
Above Us Only Sky
I'm not gonna lie, I've wondered if maybe I set some sort of record with that madness.
She set the bar high, Helper. You're in trouble now.
That happens to me all the time IRL. Digging in your heels even when you know you're wrong, and getting caught up in a terrible, stupid argument. Yeah, my husband would have plenty to say too!
Andplusalso, I saw you said you have a 10 month old. I do too. So... besties?
I've had a few 7-8 pagers, but 11 pages is a very high bar
Above Us Only Sky
You might need to go train with Yoda in a cave for a bit. If you're lucky, Ewan McGregor may just show up at your doorstep.
LOL - so true, so true.
I think you're right about 11 pages being the record. I want to read but then I won't leave the office until midnight so it'll have to wait.

Ooh, what's that?
First election season this board was created on TK as Brides Decide.
Shhhh. The #1 rule of Fight Club!
Who started the Rudolph thread? I think that was the first major multi-pager. Although, that was back when the pages were longer, so it probably only went to 5 pages or so. When they redid the boards, the number of posts on each page was less. And it appears to be less with the next revision. Yay for $ generating page clicks!
The knot brides decide was actually linked to the nest version. You could post from either site and end up in the same place. I used tk version b/c I liked the layout of the text better (by removing that frame with the obnoxious videos).
While I didn't participate in the 11 pager (I don't think?), I did skim through it. It takes a strong person to come on and admit they were wrong and apologize. I really respect that and I totally understand digging your heels in!
Welcome.
You know how we do
