Cleaning out my closet...WDYT Keep or donate?

So I was digging through my closet yesterday to clear things out that I no longer wear. This dress was purchased about 9? years ago. I don't think I have worn it, ever. I was about to toss it in the donate pile when I had the urge to just try it on. I actually sort of like it. Am i crazy? Should i just donate it? I thought maybe I could wear it on Easter....anywho, I knew I could get some honest opinions from you ladies here. I added a belt and buttonup with it just to see, because I live in the midwest and it wont be very warm here this weekend.

Sorry the lighting is so bad, no window in my walk in closet. Also, don't mind the mess on the floor...like I said I was majorly cleaning out the closet.

I also found out it could be converted to a halter top....

So, again, I'd love your opinions. I'm not the most fashion forward person. I work in the medical field where I wear scrubs to work everyday which doesn't require much thought or any style.

  • I say keep the dress.  But, I'd wear a skinny belt or maybe no belt.

It is kind of cathartic isn't it?! I felt great after I accomplished that feat.

I really would love to pair it with a skinny belt. I was working with what I have already. I have been on the prowl for a skinny belt but haven't found one I like yet! (Keep in mind I don't shop often, So i haven't been trying too hard...) haha

  • For a boho feel and look to the outfit, maybe wear your thicker belt, but blouse up the top of the dress more so it kind of poufs above the belt?  And wear the white or cream jacket you have in your post but don't belt that layer.

Yes, I actually like the wide belt with the shoes, it adds a nice contrast to the softness of the dress, but definitely do not belt that cardigan like that with the wide belt.

I did try it both ways...so this is a little better?

Yes, I like this look much better.

Agreed.  The dress would be cuter without that belt.

That dress is adorable!  Definitely a keeper.  I also like it worn this way.
