CranioSacral Therapy?

I am not sure if I am posting this in the right place but just looking to see if anyone out there has any experience with CranioSacral therapy?

A little background on me: I was in a car accident in March 2011, I was off work until September 2011. I did physio about 60 times, also I did IMS (it was awful) and I  have been recieving massage treatments every few weeks. I quit physio and IMS in November because I felt it was a waste of time and the insurance companies money.

I met a new massage therapist yesterday since I moved cities, she mentioned CranioSacral therapy, I have a booklet on it and did some research online but wanted to see if anyone has any experience on it?

Re: CranioSacral Therapy?

  • It helped with my migraines! I say my therapist (Juan) is the man with magic hands!

  • Did you notice a difference right away? or was it a gradual thing? how often do you go now?
  • The relief (tension around my neck/shoulders that pulled my head and caused the headaches) was almost instantanious! The only caution is to drink a ton of water, take a dose of advil right afterwards and make sure you flush it all out! I still go at least once a month, sometimes more when my budet allows.

  • Thanks! She did a few minutes of it at the end of my session and I was a little dizzy after so that made me nervous. I have been drinking water like a fish and I am sooo sore today but I don't know if it is from the massage or the Therapy, she wants me to try a full session and I may just do that! Anything to find pain relief!
  • I would really really really research practitioners. We went over it a bit in massage school and it's def not somethig that any therapist can do. I'm also not sold on it. And, is that a Corgi in your siggy?

She is correct, my therapist is certified in it, I just assumed anyone that offered it would be!

Corgi! Looks just as full of personality as mine! (not mine in siggy, just cute pic.)

Sorry, no advice, but I've been wondering this for TMJ pain.
