Backpacking Trip

Hi Ladies,

I want to plan a backpacking trip somewhere, anywhere. I want the trip to include some city sites but also camping/hiking. Cheap is always good. I have plenty of vacay days so any length is fine. I am interested in France, Spain, Hawaii or Turkey.

Do you guys have any sample itineraries or recommended sites or thoughts/opinions??

Re: Backpacking Trip

  • Would you consider New Zealand?

  • If you've got time, you can go almost anywhere!  NZ is good.  I went to China and backpacked there.  I would love to backpack Peru.

  • Peru was awesome!  We hiked the Inca Trail and spent time in Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Lima.  Friends of mine just did some backpacking in New Zealand, the pics looked amazing!  It's definitely on our list now :-)

  • I'd do Turkey of the places you mentioned.  It will be cheaper, you've got at least one very large and historic city, lots of culture, ancient ruins, great beaches, etc.  Check out Fez Bus Tours - they run a bus loop to major tourist locations and will set up places for you to stay at hostels.  You call when you're ready to go to the next place and that's it.  You can take as long as you want, and you'll meet lots of fellow backpackers.

Even if you don't use them, you'll at least see the main places to see and can start your research from there.

ETA:  Turkey has great food, too!
