I work from home, so I'm lounging in my bed listening to music and putting in notes! It's going to be a long day...one of my people is being admitted for trying to kill herself last night. Good times, good times!

I'm a social worker (case manager) at a HMO. We just went "mobile" and don't really have office space anymore, so I hang out at home with my laptop for notes and go out for visits on my schedule. I'm paired with a nurse and we often rotate houses and work from couches, drinking coffee and dealing with stuff that comes up. Not a bad gig!!
I'm working from home today, so I'm here. If I work straight through, I'll be done at 2:30--yay!
Sounds pretty sweet! And for profit is MUCH better than non profit lol! My job is working on letting us do 1 day a week from home, or in my case, from my boat!

I say any day away from the office is a good day! I will say that I miss seeing people every day. There are times I haven't actually had a face to face conversation with coworkers in days and I feel pretty isolated. But I don't complain because my house is cleaner than it's ever been before and I'm not as rushed to get out of the house in the morning.
I'm here too...all day....8:00 to 4:30. I was majorly jealous this morning because my brother came into town last night and he and my mom were hanging out at my house with DD when I had to leave for work. So not fair.
I don't think I'd have the discipline to work from home all the time. Not much work would get done.
There are definately days I struggle with staying on task...but honestly, I probably screwed off more AT work then I do now at home. Plus I find myself working longer hours now....I log in at 7:30 (I used to work at 8:30) and there are days I'm totally unaware it's after 5 and I'm still working.
Not a bad gig indeed! How did you get into that?
Same here about not actully knowing people get days off today for Good Friday. I am here working all day, though I am going to a Good Friday service tonight.
I am around as always just usually have nothing to add to the conversations.
I have huge boobs?? I kid....I actually knew some people who worked here and they put in a good word for me...it's all about who you know! I worked in the office for almost 5 years, so this whole working from home stuff has only been possible for 2 months. It's still quite the adjustment.
