I am having a hard time wrapping my head around all this bc I enjoy sex, don't want to get pregnant and hope my nieces can also someday enjoy having consensual sex without getting pregnant or a disease. I guess that makes me a deviant to some people.
Worked that way for me.
I counseled my younger sister that she should wait to have vaginal intercourse, and any high school boy who wasn't satisfied with BJs and wouldn't wait for more was not worth her time and probably didn't really care about her the way a sex partner should. I further said that refusing to participate in ANY sexual activity wasn't necessarily the best/only way to go, and that there were tons of other things she and her boyfriend could enjoy that can't get her with child. She took my advice (or says she did) and graduated without getting pregnant. We are the first women in a couple generations of our family to hit 18 without a baby on the way, including a couple of them who were pretty religious but apparently found complete abstinence too challenging. We heathens must be doing something right.
Of course, those politicians in TN would probably have a problem with me waiting to have a kid until 28, too. I should have been barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen years ago!
