White heels

Hi guys,

So some co-workers and I were discussing white heels. They said that its tacky and not appropriate where as, I think if they're cute and paired with the right outfit, it looks fine. What do you guys think? Yes or no?

Re: White heels

  • Well...since I just wore white heels yesterday...I like them :)  I think they look classy.

  • I generally don't like white heels, a lot of designers had them this year though, flip thru couple of magazines and you will see them in editorial spreads, i love trends but this is one I am leaving to editorials only.
  • I don't like them. I would rather wear a nude colored shoe.
  • I am not a fan of them (much prefer nude), but I wouldn't call them tacky. Just NMS.

  • I'm not a huge fan...they can be a little too bridal/Easter parade unless they are kind of funky or have some texture to them.  I have seen white shoes with other colors like a brown and those aren't too bad.
  • I think it just depends on what they look like and what you're wearing them with.

  • Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of white shoes.  I don't know that I'd make a blanket statement and call them tacky.  It depends on the shoe.
  • White shoes are hard to pair with the right outfit. I have a pair of white Manolos - the only reason I have them is cause Neimans kept screwing up my order (same pair in black) and eventually just gave me the white pair for $100 and I couldn't turn that down. I rarely wear them cause I just don't know what to put with them.

They are sort of like this but slingback instead of closed back:

  • I think it really depends on the shoe. That said, most of them make me think of kid shoes... for some reason I feel like it's fine for a child to wear, but not an adult (in most, but not all cases).
