I'll be running the Trail Half Marathon on April 28. This will be my 3rd 1/2, but my first trail race.
I'm at the point where I need to decide if I want to run just 1 10 mile run or if I should do 2, or a 10 and an 11/12 miler?
If I do my second option, that would put a 10+ long run the weekend before the event.
While it would be great to break 2:00 for the run, I am not setting any goals. I know that the terrain is tough and I have not put in efforts to increase my speed or do any hill workouts - so I shouldn't even consider that a goal!
I just want my legs to carry me through the run.
I'm also battling some IT band issues - that give me a clicking knee and quite a bit of soreness the day after my long run. The soreness is gone by the second day after the long run. I have been doing lots of icing and foam rolling.
so please, thoughts and suggestions...
Thanks!
