Ok there is a Tri here that is for someone who has never done one (I have never done one), and wants to get a feeling of what it is. Its a 200yd pool swim, 6.2 mile bike, and 1.5 mile path run.
The regular Tri, is 500yd swim in the lake, 15 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run.
This is one week befor ankle surgery, so should I just test the waters and do the mini Tri, or just go all out since its the last race for a while.
So what would you do? I am torn lol.
Re: Tri Question WWHFD?

These sites have training plans. For my first tri I didn't even have a training plan. I just did whatever I wanted. Now that I have specific goals I have a very specific training plan.
Can you swim? If not take a few private or group lessons. For biking just get on your/a bike and ride for as long as you can. I know you have been running so I'm sure you can do a 5k. Practice some "bricks". Bike hard and then do a 10-15 minute run afterwards.
I can swim, I did laps in the pool after my first foot surgery.
Going back do the bike, there is only 1 rental place nearby. It would be hard to train on actual bike like that. Would it be bad to use a regular mt bike?
Thank you for being so helpful!
Ok I am reading about the transition area, is it just one big area that is for both T1 and T2, or dependant on the race?
