My husband and I are planning a 7-9 day long trip flying from Seattle to Anchorage, visiting Denali for 2 days, flying from Anchorage to Juneau, visiting Glacier Bay National Park and friends in Juneau, then flying back to Seattle. DH is doing most of the research right now but I'd love to hear your top things to do near these 2 cities. TIA!

Re: Alaska recs
Moose's Tooth pizza is a really good local place to eat in Anchorage. There are some good places for short hikes around Anchorage - Thunderbird Falls, Eklutna Lake, Glen Alps. If you have extra time, I'd plan to go south of Anchorage onto the Kenai Peninsula. Homer and Seward are beautiful with lots to do, and the drive down the Seward Highway is really pretty.
There's really NOTHING to do in Glacier Bay. The lodge is nice and very secluded. They have a "museum" in the top floor that shows Alaskan wildlife films that were pretty neat. We brought a deck of cards and spent most of our time in front of the fireplace in the lodge playing. Be sure that you bring a lot of layers and expect rain/possible snow for this one. (It snowed on us on Aug 30 when we were there!)
In Juneau, we had dinner at the Twisted Fish and it was hands down the best salmon we ate the entire time we were in AK. There is a decent hike at the top of the Mt. Roberts tramway, and it's worth it, IMO, to go to the top to see the view from the top of the tram.
