I know this isn't in the right place and I'm sorry...I've just talked to a few of you here more then any other area.
My chihuahua went in for tests last week and it seemed his liver was having some problems. They wanted to do further testing to see what exactly was going on. We got the results back this morning and it wasn't good. His liver is failing. To the point where there isn't anything we can really do to reverse it at this point. We can make him comfortable and enjoy our time with him...but much sooner than we thought we will lose him.
I know pets aren't forever but he's still a baby to me. He's only 5. He's always been a good boy, always healthy until recently. He's never snapped or bitten and he doesn't even bark unless you scare him awake. He brought my mother out of a dangerous depression and has been one of the family. He is not just a dog. I'm full of anger and hurt. I don't have children. This dog has been like my child for five years. As a puppy he fell down the stairs and I held him and cried, sure that he was broken. He was okay, but my reaction was instant fear of losing him and blaming myself for not watching him more close. I know a lot of you have children and probably think I'm ridiculous. This is just devastating to me. I'm sorry it got so long but I just had to put it out there and vent...Thank You.

So sorry for your news.
I've lost 3 dogs in the past and it never gets easier. I hope that your little guy stays comfortable and happy for a long time before he has to go. He sure is a cutie.
Sadly this isn't the first pet I've lost. I'm more attached this time though for sure. He's my cuddle buddy. He'd rather snuggle all day then do anything.
He's got spring fever right now though so he's been sunning himself and helping my mom garden. He has good days and bad days I guess. I have millions more pictures that I need to get together of him.
Thank you for the kind words guys. It means a lot to me
Semi-lurker, I feel so bad for you. Beans looks like my Angelo, but
he is black, tan & white.
Hang in there.
Hi, I'm mostly a lurker but saw your post and wanted to let you know that my chihuahua/dachsund was in liver failure in January. We started giving him Denosyl (ordered from Amazon) everyday, put him on a grain free diet and started adding milk thistle to his food. He has done a 180 degree turn around. I can't guarantee it would work for you, but it's worth a try.
I'm sorry you're going through this!
